God Dethroned have released the following statement regarding an upcoming show to be played in Sarajevo:

"It's June 28th, 1914. Franz Ferdinand, heir to the throne of Austria-Hungary and his wife visit Sarajevo, capital of the Austro-Hungarian province Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A member of The Black Hand assassinates them there when visiting a hospital. This action led to a chain of events triggering World War I.

Exactly 95 years later, GOD DETHRONED will play Sarajevo promoting their album 'Passiondale' (based on World War I). Leading the concept further beyond the story on the album.

A whole tour on the Balkans is based around it, being the start of a massive World tour in 2009."

Not a huge black metal fan but I love war songs and concept albums ala Bolt Thrower so I'll be checking this one out I think.

Pretty cool, God Dethroned are awesome. I really hope you guys mistyped 'Passchendaele' though, it was the turning point in the great War and would hate to see them put that on the album cover...
