The Rockstar Ramblings: American Idol Edition
Band Photo: Guns N Roses (?)
Well, I think this makes it official. Velvet Revolver is unable to find a new lead singer. What else could possibly explain Slash appearing on the Fox family hour better known as American Idol?
If the reason was not to find a new front man then the only possible explanations are: 1) Fox decided to “spice up” their family oriented show by sprinkling the phrase “kick ass” throughout the episode. 2) Fox knew Paula Abdul would admit to her addiction (she publicly has come out and said she’s been addicted to pain killers for twelve years) and needed someone even more fucked up than her, and Steven Adler is already on tour with his band. Without drugs every band would be the Jonas brothers, just saying… Speaking of Adler, after defending his band, insisting Adler’s Appetite is not a cover band, he exclaimed “I am one fifth of Guns and Roses. I am just as much GNR as Axl Rose”. Five fact checkers have confirmed that last comment.
In related ex-GNR drummer news Matt Sorum stated that if there were a reunion both he and original drummer Adler should be there. This is great news. Okay, the two drummers are in, now...
Recently Vince Neil of Motley Crue was interviewed and asked about Carrie Underwood’s version of the song “Home Sweet Home” that is being played weekly at the end of each American Idol episode. Neil said that at first he didn’t care for it, but has since met Underwood and is okay with it. He goes on to say that he would love to have one week be just Motley Crue songs. Fantastic idea, I would love to hear the sensitive pop stars singing “Ten Seconds To Love”, “Knock’em Dead Kid”, “Bastard”, or really anything off the “Shout at The Devil” album. Comments after each song… Randy: “Woah, that was crazy dog!” Simon: “It needed more bloody fire and explosions” Paula: “When is Slash coming back?” He's not.
Start the Carrie Underwood “Home Sweet Home” song…
(looking for a No. 2 pencil to stab into my neck)…
