^yeah that song gives me good vibes for the whole album, even though it's unrealistic to judge a whole cd, or a whole band, off one song, still, that track was, and is awesome.

Now Playing: Lamb of God- Set to fail (weeks after listening to the whole album, I finally like this song. WTF?)

Good to have something to look forward too! Slayer doesn't have to blow me away - as long as they put out a solid record, I'm happy to have something to listen to for months.

Slayer never disappoints Slayer fans because most of their albums sound the same with a few exceptions. I remember when I heard "God Hates Us All" and I was actually surprised on how different it was, but many Slayer fans dislike it. The last album, "Christ Illusion" was very boring. All I need to do is pop in "Seasons in the Abyss" or "Reign in Blood" to hear what I want from this band.

I loved Diabolus in Musica and God Hats us All...but then Christ Illusion came out and sounded just like God Hates us All and I listened to the album for like two months before I got bored!! I really hope this new album sounds different from than the last two....because metal bands are starting sound so repetitive. But I still love Slayer though...too bad crappy Megadeth is main act on the tour.

I did feel like Christ Illusion was like a part two to God Hates Us All, just with a little more melody to the guitars. God Hates Us All was the most unmelodic (anti-melodic?) album, I often find myself amazed how much I like it, but the pure aggression is great. I still enjoyed Christ Illusion, but felt like it was a very similar to the previous album. They are similar in sound, but both albums have good variety in the songs with a couple of more groovy songs, one or two slow and heavy songs, and a couple all out speed thrashers. Anyone who can say all of that album or the band's material sounds the same has about as much credibility to me as someone who says all metal is noise.

I liked GHUA a lot but have actually listened to Death Magnetic more than CI cause it just bores me to tears. We know you hate god and religion Kerry, we know. That said, Slayer is and always will be my all time favorite band so I am absolutely looking forward to anything they put out.
Np- Twilight of the Thunder God for the trillionth time... Can one really listen to this album too many times? I think not
