Italian gothic metal group Lacuna Coil has entered the Billboard Top 200 chart with their latest studio offering, "Shallow Life." The record debuted at number 16 which makes it not only the highest charting album for Lacuna Coil, but also their record label Century Media.

Vocalist Cristina Scabbia states: "Thank you, thank you and thank you all! After its first week in the stores, Shallow Life entered The Billboard 200 chart at #16 and we are absolutely thrilled. Most of all, we couldn't be happier about the fact that you (our fans) have supported us and our work, once again. It's been a beautiful journey, together we have shared the same passions for ten years and this is another goal we have reached and are celebrating together with you all out there. Thank you for being part of the Lacuna Coil family and see you all on the road soon. Rock on!"

I really don't like this band but obviously they have a lot of success. Good for them to be able to live for their music.

Meh, I'm kinda let down by the current direction...I'm happy for them, they've more than paid their dues but I'll just stick with the early albums and EP's.

This one is an extension of "Karmacode", which was OK. But this one almost warns you with its title. Lacuna Coil has always been "very" pop, which is part of the appeal...but they're making more concessions to American tastes. The lyrics have always been a little quirky and adolescent but this plunges though my threshold, "The Pain" and "I Like It" aren't even tolerable.

What sucks is its very hard to find a band fronted by a female where the vocals aren't overwrought, operatic/yodeling, God-centric or just hilariously terrible or out of step with the music.

There are a few off this album that ring familiar with some of the stuff from Comalies. I'll probably buy it, but I think RM hit the nail on the head by saying it's an extension of Karmacode, only Karmacode had absolutely NO Comalies at all in it.

lacuna coil is a great band, they may not be like lamb of god or bands like that but they have a lot of talent and skill and cristina has the best female voice in metal

Whatever floats your boat, they've just moved on, and away from my taste. I don't hate them now or anything just not crazy about their direction.

I'll with you on Cristina having the best voice, I can't another in metal that doesn't disagree with me somehow.

I do like this album more than Karmacod, but they do have a few songs that are just really bad, for the most part i enjoyed this album... They are still my favorite female fronted band by far
