Deicide Frontman Glen Benton Converts To Christianity
Hundreds of hardcore Deicide fans are expressing their outrage today after band leader Glen Benton revealed that he has decided to convert to Christianity. Fans have stated everything from acceptance to disgust over Benton's decision. A posting from the frontman on the bands official website reads as follows: "Yes it's true. I have accepted Jesus Christ into my life as my Lord and Saviour. Obviously I looked into the Bible for previous lyrical inspiration but I never looked into the uplifting, positive messages it gives. I see now just how closed minded I had been. Don't worry, Deicide will continue and our new album will be released later this year as scheduled. The name Deicide know has a new meaning to me though. It now represents the killing of false idols. The removal of the obstructions people face that stops them from finding Christ.
"I hope you enjoy what will be the most brutal Christian death metal album ever released. God bless you all!
"Glen"
Deicide are expected to begin a headlining tour of America along with Living Sacrifice and Demon Hunter later this year.

Wow. This is my first day on MU, and it got me. I texted 3 of my friends already p***ed as hell, wondering what is going on in glen's head. I mean...."I hope you enjoy what will be the most brutal Christian death metal album ever released. God bless you all! is not something he'd say at all....april fools lol...

y'know, it almost sounded believable up until the last line.

I call total bullsh** on that one! even a christian reformed Glen benton has more musical taste than to be seen with demon hunter
It makes me sick that there actually are Christian death metal bands, Like Impending Doom and a few others. Incorporating christianity into death metal is just wrong, They just dont mix. Death metal is not a form of christian music. Funny thing is I saw their CD being sold in a christian store, I doubt any heavy christian following would be thrilled to check out their music. Its still a pretty brutal album.
Khanate:
I could call dark ambient metal sh** music, but I do not. Dont call one of the fastest, most technical, physically demanding genres of metal sh**, and I wont call one of the most atmospherically compelling yet boring(to me) genre's of music sh**.
Thank you.
oh yeah, and it's an april fools article Khanate.
