As You Drown Signs To Metal Blade Records
Metal Blade Records has issued the following announcement about signing Swedish metal band As You Drown:
"Metal Blade Records is proud to announce the signing of AS YOU DROWN from Borås, Sweden!
"Delivering some of the most memorable, intense and catchy Death Metal to date, AS YOU DROWN was born to combine the speed and brutality of the modern Death Metal scene with the atmosphere and catchy songwriting of its old-school predecessor. Adding a number of outside influences, the result is an always raging - yet always changing, storm of anger, brutality and finesse. Their debut album will surely appeal to fans of such artists as Decapitated, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth or Job For A Cowboy, but should also be able to catch the attention of almost any fan of brutal, creative and honest Metal – ranging from those who enjoy the surgical precision of Meshuggah to those who get their fill from blasting death legends like Morbid Angel.
"The band comments the signing as follows: “We are proud to announce that we have signed a deal with Metal Blade Records, who will be releasing our debut album this summer! It's an honour for us to join a roster that includes many of our favourite bands, and we intend to make the most of this. When the album is released we will be looking to take this chaos machinery of ours out on the road, so look out for AS YOU DROWN in the near future!”
"AS YOU DROWN was formed in Borås, Sweden in the winter of 2003/2004 under the name of ETHEREAL when the average age of the band was only 17 years. The future belongs to AS YOU DROWN!"

yea, the lead guitarist of this band had a bunch of slipknot covers on youtube before they got signed, and i actually commented and messaged the guy a few times, his name is simon exner and he's a great guitarist, so if this band makes it relly big in the future, ill be proud to say that ive spoken with the lead guitarist before. this is great news for me. I think he removed all of his slipknot covers after his band got signed
^exactly what I was thinking, verbatum. Except I also had a couple choice words like f***damnit and sh**sucking d*** weasel thrown in on top of that. :)
I keep seeing that these days actually. Whnever I go to buy a death metal or grindcore cd at the store, there's always this sticker on it that says "for fans of Cannibal Corpse, Decapitated, some random band that the band I'm buying actually sounds like, and Job for a f***ing Cowboy"
They keep trying to pass the band off as real death metal; kids get fooled real easy like that, they're very impressionable these days, and it pisses me off that they would be so sneaky as to infer that Job for a Cowboy is = Decapitated. Goddamned bullsh**.
