Cool. Hope it's better than the last one. It kinda disappointed me, except the "Holy Diver" cover.

looking forward to this one. I liked the last album and as long as they stay on course with songs like My Curse and Eye of the Storm I would imagine I will like the new one too. Although Holy Diver was definitely the best song on it.

Killswitch's last album was good, but not as good as alive or still breathing. The holy diver cover raped the original. Why the f*** would he randomly start screaming in that song when his singing voice goes perfectly well with the song. Jesus i can't listen to that song once he starts screaming. Maybe its just me loving the original.

I just hope its metal. there last album had those emo a$$ sounding songs like Arms of Sorrow and My Curse and just way to my girly emo lyrics on the last two albums and it gets worse and worse every release. They're heavy stuff is great but i can't stand when metal bands whine and write songs for 15 year old girls, so hopefully they go for some balls out metal all the way this time and not dive further into the like of Bullet for my Valentine

dontbombme: the point of a band releasing a cover, is to put their own spin on it, to update it with the modern sound. hence, the double bass, hence the distortion, hence the screaming. If you really cant stand Kilsswitch's cover of the song, just listen to the original; that's what I do.

i personally dont care what a lot of people say i like it. back in the day people could have softer songs & they call it ballads now its always called emo. cant people sing anymore without bein called emo, thats f***in huge insult. Shadows Fall, God Forbid, KSE arent emo they just have great melody at times. (though some bands i.e. LoG should never have singing wouldnt be right

Caveman1: Respectfully, I disagree. One should never paint with such a broad brush. What you are doing with that last post is labeling. Ballads never (I repeat... NEVER) equal EMO. Furthermore, Randy has the right to do what he want's with his vocal and he's never let you down before. Seriously... Don't go there.

^Opeth has clean singing, Strapping Young Lad has clean vocals thrown in, The Agonist has clean singing. They all meld it with screams/growls and it's fantastic and beautiful. Although for the agonist, I think it's because their singer is a girl, so it sounds right. Opeth though....listen to the song Lotus Eater, and tell me that song doenst blow your mind.

Besides, when a song is JUST soft, it's a ballad. back in the day, people didnt try mixing screaming and growling with singing. It's a relatively new style, and very few bands can pull it off without sounding stupid or ruining the mood of a song.

When a song starts off heavy, fast, pumping with anger, and then out of nowhere, drops off into a chorus of balladesque guitar, cymbal tapping, and choir-boy vocals, it kindof destroys the point of the song for me. When the styles are built into each other, with the heavy piece slowly leading into the melody, or likewise building into a ripping crescendo, that's when they're generally done right, making the song sound all the more epic and vituosic. Metallica was a master of this(Master of Puppets, ONE) and Opeth seems to be the only one these days that knows this.

KSE is just the cornerstone of crappy metalcore stylings. The music, his screams, his singing, are all individually good. The WAY they are presented together, sucks.

Howard has one of the best controlled screams I've ever heard.

I agree with f*** A Name. so to Caveman1, you got it all wrong. your thinking too broad. yes there is a difference between melodic/soft and emo riffs. alot of killswitches softer stuff sounds like all those screamo bands, and i hate that. plus, howard writes emo a$$ lyrics more recently dude, and if you read my first post, that was my main gripe. You used shadows fall as an example, and i f***ing LOVE shadows fall, but when they use melody and softer parts in they're songs, it still sounds like a metal song, unlike killswitches screamo parts. plus brian fair doesn't have a vagina and b**** n' cry about love like howard jones nowadays

Here's hoping this album sounds a hell of a lot less "mainstream" than As Daylight Dies. HA! You really shouldn't open your mouth if you don't know what your talking about. i've been the lead singer/guitarist for 3 metal bands since i was 14, so i've been "gracing the stage" for 8 years. Trust me when i tell you, you couldn't lace my stage boots as a singer, frontman or guitarist. and i've had to do this for 8 years with NOTHING but f***ing emo bands in my area.

anyway, what i believe is happening is your mistaking my saying "plus brian fair doesn't have a vagina and b**** n' cry about love like howard jones nowadays" as Brian is better than howard. WRONG. Howard Jones has an amazing voice, worlds better than brians in terms of singing. but his 14 year old girl friendly emo lyrics really need to stop. i just dont want them to end up being Bullet for my Valentine 2.

I've actually toured the East coast before with a different band (some time ago) and i'm sorry to hear that Jersey's scene is taking a dive. We played some pretty awesome shows there and always had great turnouts and crowd participation (which i'm sure you know has everything to do with the success of your show). I wish you luck... Used to really enjoy these guys.

Their current vocalist, while quite capable and a very wise choice, just doesn't capture everything that Leech could manage. The lyrics were never this bands strong suit but they took a downturn and as is textbook--this band mellows and streamlines with every release.

Still, I wish them the best as I was quite the fan of the first two albums, third had its moments.

I happened to think As Daylight Dies was a damn good album. Sure it was no End Of Heartache, but It was still really amazing.I happen to really like their melodic approach and Howards lyrics on As Daylight Dies were nothing short of awesome. Instead of trying to stick them into one genre, why cant you just accept the fact that they're more than a metal band....When you really dig down deep, METAL as a whole is so diverse that you cant really tie any single band to a single style. Bands like KSE paved the way as far as adding different elements. They're a hardcore/ metal band or METALCORE. As far as my hopes for the new album, Im hoping its a blend of all their previous efforts, from their self titled up to As Daylight Dies. Adam D and Joel never disappoint, so I cant wait to hear what new stuff they're bringing. My other hope is for more KSE solo's. Adams solo on Breathe Life from End of Heartache was pretty cool, and I didnt get and justice on As Daylight Dies, so hopefully Adam will bring some solo's with this new album.
