Torch Backs Out Of Record Deal With Heart Of Steel Records
Heart of Steel records had previously reported signing the Swedish metal band Torch for the release of their album "Dark Sinner." The record label released the following update today stating that Torch has now backed out of the deal:
"Out of the dark, this morning we got a very short message from the TORCH management, letting us now that the band just signed with another label, simply ‘cause a bigger amount of money was offered to them. And with no chance to discuss with them any possible new agreement.
"This happened AFTER that the band’s management confirmed to have sent to our label both, the final audio master and the signed contracts, and AFTER the same management already supplied us with the final artwork, and AFTER we’ve talked with their management about future plans of touring, etc…
"We’ll not spend any more words on this matter. But, please, don’t talk anymore about the NOT professional work of Italian bands and labels… at least we always try to be professional. What about the others? Enough said!"

That does sound pretty unprofessional of Torch, but isn't publicly smearing them unprofessional of Heart of Steel Records? Anyone could understand how that situation would be infuriating but that doesn't make it right. Just move on and warn your buddies about these guys and their management behind the scenes tactfully.
