"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Rose Tatoo Announces One-Off Show On Gold Coast

Rose Tattoo, Australia’s favourite Aussie rock legends will be performing for one night only at the Coolangatta Hotel on the Gold Coast on Sunday, April 12. Presented by Ice Management and Productions, Angry Anderson and the formidable band that are Rose Tattoo will rock out the Cooly with songs from classic albums like "Scarred for Life," "Southern Stars," "Blood Brothers," "Pain" and of course the self titled "Rose Tattoo" album released in 1978.

Throughout the line-up changes over the years, a solid sound has remained the constant with Rose Tattoo and whether you call it hard rock or blues rock, the music is a hot mix of slide guitars and pounding hooks, with a sharp, tight rhythm. And you can’t go past the unmistakable voice of Angry Anderson as he belts through hits like “Bad Boy for Love” and “We Can’t Be Beaten.”

“Blood Brothers,” the latest album from Rose Tattoo, pays a touching tribute to founding members Pete Wells and Ian Rilen who both lost their battles with cancer in the last few years. The album combines the traditional sounds of that original rock line-up with a modern edge and high quality that is demanded from today’s taste makers. It’s powerful, unrelenting and wildly uncompromising, making it one of the best albums to come out of the Rose Tattoo camp yet.

Rose Tattoo play the Coolangatta Hotel on Sunday, April 12 and tickets are available from the venue and Oztix. Visit www.oztix.com.au for more information or call 1300 762 545.
