I hope this will outshine their last efforts. Hopefully Christina will embrace the darker heavier side of her personality like she did in Comalies.

Yeah I hear ya - BG1. Although, I thought it was a nice of LC to cover Depeche Mode's Enjoy the Silence. Depeche Mode was never metal, but they always had such a dark wave style sound to them. Just really cool. Lacuna Coil continues to impress me.

They were a nice metal-lite package back in the day (late 90's-02)...

"Karma Code" was void of the twinkling euro-guitar and mild, understated electronic nuances. Pounding nu-metal bass does not a good band make. Cristina didn't seem to have her heart in the vocals either.

I'll stream "Shallow Life", maybe review it, "Comalies" was their most well rounded album but their best songs are on the two albums before it.

Now Playing: Belphegor - "Angel of Retribution"

I really hope that "Shallow Life" kicks major ass. Karmacode was good but I am not sure that it was a direction that they should continue, though it was a nice experiment by all mean. And an interesting part of their evolution as a band. Since Lacuna Coil is my favorite band I am really looking forward to Shallow Life though.

I agree w/Remember Metal? when he says and I quote: ""Comalies" was their most well rounded album but their best songs are on the two albums before it."

It is also well stated that Christina had no heart in her vocal tracks on Karmacode. It seemed that she was just going through the motions and not really putting the feeling into her craft.
