Band Photo: Metallica (?)
Metallica has now revealed the tracklisting for Guitar Hero: Metallica. As previously reported, Guitar Hero: Metallica will be hitting the streets on March 29 with some really cool features like different classic venues such as the L.A. Forum, Tushino Airfield, and The Hammersmith Odeon, the ability to play as us or in single instrument mode, and even the Expert+ setting with double bass drum kick pedals.
Here are the songs on the game, both from Metallica and other bands that they "admire and even call friends":

After seeing the track listing and thinking about this a bit I've realized this game is going to be pretty f***ing tough! A lot of these songs are like 6-7+ minutes and have some incredibly fast parts. I can see this game becoming very tiring. That's cool they added some other sweet metal bands too, yeah Kyuss!
NP- Metallica- Disposable Heroes
Lol this is weird, because I've only really been introduced to Kyuss in the last week - been cranking the self titled today much to neighbours annoyance.
Oh and not that I'll play it but yeah missing "Damage Inc." and "Ride The Lightning" - those songs are fun as hell to play, specially the marathon solo in RTL.

No chance of a "classic" version at a cut-down price with all the post-Black album stuff removed, seeing as it's all pretty much s**t?
As for Four Horsemen, it'd be more difficult played at a proper speed. Like, I dunno, Mechanix ;)
Still, almost worth considering for the likes of Toxicity and War Ensemble.
i can't complain about the tracklisting, Most of the songs I would have wanted are on here. The only ones I feel should be on here that are not are ride the lightning, damage inc, motorbreath, jump in the fire and blackened. Thats what dlc is for . This game is gonna be hard though.

WTF why didn't they put the song Damage Inc. in there it is the best Metallica song out there along with Blackened and Ride the Lightening which arn't in the game either what was with the trailer that said ride the lightening march 2009 but then they dont even but that song in the game? i wonder if its because rock band has that song? Go Rock Band! But ill still pick this up probably
If you read the wikipedia article Demoncleaner it says "Kyuss" is the actually title of "Welcome To Sky Valley". I read that when I was checking them out, MA has the same thing.
Four Horsemen isn't actually that hard on guitar once you get the picking down, a really good metal guitar 101 song actually. Dyers Eve on the other hand - don't even bother!
My buddy from my old band came to visit a few months back. We sat for a couple hours and actually got most of Dyers Eve down between the two of us. We always have played old Metallica tunes together, Four Horsemen and Damage Inc. being our favorites. As for playing and singing Dyers Eve, I can't do it. The riff takes all my effort.
Apparently someone does because these games fly off the shelves. I can understand how some folks who don't play video games think Guitar Hero is rediculous. But honestly, alot of people enjoy it. I'm kind of on the fence about it.
As a musician, I don't like to hear kids say "I think I'd be pretty good at playing guitar 'cause I can play Guitar Hero really well." That's just stupidity.
But as a gamer, I like the idea of playing a video game while listening to music. The simple aesthetic of entertainment.
As long as it's kept in perspective and shown for what it really is I have no problem with games like Rock Band or Guitar Hero. On the plus side I have seen my nephew go from a kid playing video games to a guitarist and piano player because of the influence of these games. They sparked the interest and he is actually pretty good. Also thank God he likes Metal :)
oh im not saying it isn't fun, it totally is...i just dont think it's metal news. and dont anyone start with "how is not metal news it's metal guitar hero blahblablah respecting the art form blah blah blah". f*** that. everyone plays guitar hero, no one thinks ur cooler for knowing the obscure tracks on it and it doesnt make u cool being good at it. ive been great at guitar hero since the first one, and my knowledge of the trak listing has not given me any good head start or even one lick of p***y "pun totally intended". its a game...lets leave it at that. let ign cover it

At least all the kids who get this will get introduced to some great metal - King Diamond, Diamond Head, Judas Priest, Kyuss, etc.
