Metallica To Tour With Guns N Roses?

According to Contactmusic.com, METALLICA would consider a rock supertour with GUNS N' ROSES - after hailing the group's comeback album "Chinese Democracy."
The "Enter Sandman" hitmakers are big fans of their rock counterparts, who they rose to fame alongside in the 1980s.
And drummer Lars Ulrich admits he would jump at the chance to tour alongside Axl Rose's legendary group. He says, "We're road dogs. We love to tour. So we'd never say no. We've learned never to say no to anything, and all four of us love 'Chinese Democracy'."
But guitarist Kirk Hammett admits he doesn't see the rockers making an offer in the near future, adding: "The real question is whether they would tour with us."

I'm gonna go ahead and call this bunk. They tried this once before. I think the tour was somewhat successful until Hetfield got torched on stage, and then Guns quit mid-set, inspiring a riot.
Can't see them teaming up again after how things went down last time (not that Hetfield should get injured, but the attitude that Rose had after the fact). And that ends my 2 cents.
blindgreed1 - How goes it!? Concerts in general are starting to get expensive. So, a show like that, yep big price tag. It's almost like the NFL or NBA, the "average person" can not attend the game / show. To carry the comparison further. Sometimes, it's not even the ticket. It's the ticketmaster charges, t-shirt, drinks, parking, etc. What starts off as a $30 ticket ends up being a $100 night if you are not careful.
Everybody's talking about the delay for G-N-R to get on stage. I know that when G-N-R were at their peak in the 90s, the physical ticket you got for the concert said "around 9 PM". Nice, I guess that's a good CYA for the band.
weasel 321: 30$? You're kidding right?? Only 30$ for that kind of show? You're lucky, guys.. here in Poland tickets for gigs like that starts from 80$ at least..
You should be happy to live where you live, in a country where music is really going on and on and where one good show is running right after another.
J: I believe what Weasel was referring to is what we call a "lawn ticket" here. The seats sell from $60-%500 here at those shows. On top of that as he said you throw in all the extra's ($10.00 for a fvcking beer!!!) and it's easy to lose the middle class crowd.
Weasel: Not too bad brother and yourself?
DB: Lol. Maybe someday you'll grow up and host your own metal site. A kid has to have dreams right? lol.
J (post 12) - $30 was just a number I picked. To me more realistic about it. I saw Tool last year and the tickets were $50 per. I also saw ventriloquist Jeff Dunham $45 a ticket. Finally, my wife is a eagles fan. I was going to get her tickets for Christmas but they were $100 for nose-bleed and $200 for floor per ticket. With the cost of living and the economy, I can spend $400 dollars better than a 2 hour concert. So yes, just walking in the door to Tool is $100 plus drinks, parking, etc.
Blindgreed1 - Hanging in there. I think that SOME bands think they can charge whatever they want and people will just show up. It makes it hard to pick what to go see with the tickets so expensive and normally, in New Orleans, a lot of good bands coming to town through out the year.
the whole money issue, come live in Australia, many bands only tour over here like once every 3-4 years and the price is so stupid its not funny, but we pay it becasue we dont get to see many bands.
as for this tour it would be ok but na not my thing, if Faith No More did a once only show with these then yes i would fly over there just to see it, but i just dont see Metallica and Guns N Roses going together, its like putting Soulfly with Nickelback the bands just dont go together
OK SO THIS IS FOR ALL THE OBNOXIOUS PEOPLE WHO DARE MAKE A BAD COMMENT ABOUT METALLICA AS SOMEONE ELSE HAS COMMENTED TOURS ARE EXTREEMLY EXPENCIVE SO IT WOULDNT BE FARE FOR THEM TO PAY FOR THERE TOUR THEY ARE NOT A CARITY CASE. FOR US DEDICATED METALLICA FANS WE UNDERSTAND AT THAT ONE DAY HOPEFULLY IN THE NEAR FUTURE THEY WILL TOUR AUSTRALIA. HOWEVER FOR PEOPLE SUCH AS THE PEOPLE THAT KEEP GOING ON ABOUT THE BAND BEING SELFISH AND WHAT NOT TO BE REALISTIC YOU GUYS ARE THE ONE'S WHO ARE BEING SELFISH DO YOU WORK FOR FREE IN WHATEVER INDUSTRY YOU WORK IN? NO! SO MY ADVISE FOR YOU IS GO TO THE STATES OR TO EUROPE WORK FOR A YEAR THEN COME BACK TO AUSTRALIA THEN THE CURRENCY DIFFERENCE WILL EFFECT YOU ASWELL SO BEFORE YOU ALL GO AROUND OPENING YOUR MOUTH'S ABOUT SOMETHING YOU HQAVE ABSOLUTLY NO IDEA ABOUT F***ING THINK ABOUT IT BEFORE YOU POST IT!
#11 IM SORRY BUT METALLICA ARE WAY TOO GOOD TO OPEN FOR ANYONE N I DONT CARE WHO THEY ARE.
#12 YOU ARE BOTH LUCKY THE MINIMUM I HAVE PAID FOR ANY CONCERT TICKET IS LIKE $150.00AU AND THAT WAS FOR BIG DAY OUT TOMORROW.
To be honest, the ticket prices are one of the reasons I wouldnt even consider a show like this. There's more to it than that, I mean I COULD afford it, but then I consider parking, traffic, crowded conditions, drinks, late shows. It all adds up to a miserable time even if I liked the music. My last show was an anniversary present for my wife and I. Money was tight so we decided to take in a show of bands we both enjoyed. Baroness and High on Fire as openers, and Opeth as the main show. Each band played an hour, Opeth played almost 2. The club we went to was great, we sat in the balcony overlooking the stage. Bar prices for drinks, 5 dollars for parking and 24 dollars apiece for tickets. We had an awesome time socializing between bands and were given a seriously top notch performance. All for around 100 bucks. Hell I can spend more in a night bar hopping. It's the little shows like that one that make me hesitant to bother with the big shows like this one.
last time metallica and guns and roses tried this i had tickets for the indianapolis indiana show, some of you may not know but axl is from lafayette indiana and hates indiana and everyone who lives here with a passion, both bands stayed at the canterbury hotel,(downtown indianapolis),we were able to meet hetfield and company, they were very cool and took time out for pictures and questions but let me tell you about axl....not only was axl 2 hours late coming down to the limo when he walked out of the canterbury piss a$$ drunk he let us know what he thought of us with some choice hand gestures and some f..cked up comments about being from indianapolis,he then at the show downgraded, and let us know how much he hated us for whatever reason he had that day.Guns and Roses ended up playing for about half an hour,he slammed his mic on the floor told us to f..ck off then left.It was a succsessful tour then,it probably could be again.Anxious to see if that will happen and to see what the outcome will be.I wont spend the money on it...
