Yea he vox are a little iffy recently, didn't Randy sober up before Sacrament? I blame everything on that. Still like this song though, you have to admit it's better than the last one. The production values are still higher than LoG is used to, but other than that I can see this being on NAG or BTP. Definitely harder than the enire Sacrament and half of Ashes.
"I saw that that the band was giving away USB sticks with the song on them, but it doesn't seem like such a big deal if the song was on this player all along. I just noticed it there yesterday."
Yeah its odd that they would do that but I thought they were releasing the whole album on the usb. His voice seems to finally be taking its toll.
lol I get a strong pantera vibe from a lot of their songs. Can't blaime them though, pantera rules. But it seems as though they obtained so much commercial success from they're last album they have to stick with songs structures like "Redneck" to keep in the spotlight.
How does anybody have a problem with his voice?
As opposed to his "talk-growl" on Sacrament (motherf***ing invitation!) this is fantastic. It's even less understandable than his as the palaces burn growl. In fact, it's the exact same voice he used on the gojira song he contributed to.
I think his vocals are fantastic
Sacrament didn't blow me away, and the main reason was the cheesy song titles as well as Randy's vocals. I, as well as a lot of people, realise that LoG are one of the most solid sounding outfits in their genre when it comes to the instruments, but Randy's voice does absolutely squat for me on this album!
I regarded Ashes of the Wake as one of my favourite discs at one stage, I couldn't get enough of it, infact I reckon the musicianship behind AotW will probably continue to grow on me for quite some time. Lyrically, AotW was sharp, and the vocals were brilliant. So maybe my dislike for Sacrament has something to do with monotony...
Contractor is Sacrament all over again for me!!!
Did randy contribute on the gojira song All the tears or something? because i thought i haerd him and was like, nah couldnt be. But yeah, im not going to judge them by this song alone, and i think all of their work has been better than most metal that has gone mainstream, even if it isn't on par with earlier work.
To Post 19 - I know you are a drummer so you recognize incredible drumming talent, however, LOG has sic guitar playing too. The riffs are extremely technical, machine-like, as is the drumming. It is one of the main reason why I became interested in LOG. Randy has a great ,hard voice too. The total package dude - LOG is incredible! Yes - and it is clear that LOG are highly influenced by Pantera.
I love Lamb of God, myself. While I definately can pick apart the music and find the influence behind many of the subtle (or not so subtle) arrangements, I feel the band is a definate evolution and integration of many elements of music I have always been a fan of. And Chris Adler is honestly one of the best drummers in metal today. Alot of my favorite drummers from the last 20 years would have a rough time doing what he does behind a kit.
I was not blown away with redneck when they released that song, and it certainly didn't reflect on Sacarament. For some reason every time that they release a song before the album, in my opinion that song is always the worst from the album. At least I am hoping that is the case.
TO Necropolis - that seems to be the case with most well-known/mainstream music released today. I always dig the other tracks - songs that were NOT immediately brought to radio or featured on the band's page. Those songs always seem to turn out to be the best. I happen to like Redneck, but, I understand what you are saying. Some albums only have a few great songs, and the rest tend to be filler. In my experiences, it seems like the last few end tracks - tend to become filler tracks. I am just blessed to have so many great albums, songs to choose from.
to post number 40, all "magic" is, is letter to the unborn with out vocals.
listen to them back to back, you'll see.
and i really like this song, its very.. uhh raw. it rips your head off at the beginning, and then calms down with the bass part, than blows you away at the end. it gets me pumped and i like where randy is giong with his vocals. but thats just me.
I like it, though I think it may take a bit to grow on me...
I was caught off guard by Sacrament but I think "Walk with Me in Hell", "Again We Rise" and "Blacken the Cursed Sun" were strong individually--they just couldn't match Ashes.
I'll get Wrath, it's been awhile since I got something with obvious choruses...I'm in a bit of a doom kick.
Now Playing: Longing for the Dawn - "Lethal"
I really like the song, but my ego doesnt go so far as to think everyone should think the way I do. One man's trash is another man's treasure. Music is all about personal preference. Omitting technical ability there can be no right or wrong opinion. I know many bands that I respect purely for talent or ability, but cant stand to listen to.

Oderus- LOG is not the new slayer, Slayer cannot be replaced, and all Log has is sik drumming.
Easy there bud. I didn't say LoG could replace Slayer, I said they are the 'new' Slayer. By this I mean they are heavy 100% and will always be heavy. Nothing I hate more than a metal band playing radio-type music. LoG will never hit the radio, same with Slayer. Whenever I need a metal fix, I head to Slayer and LoG. LoG/Slayer could easily go slower & less heavy but they never will because they understand their fans. Metallica didn't and look where they are now.
I dont know if anybody else realized that the last minute of the song is F*cking BROOTAL as sh**???
Holy God.
This song is amazing.
I love the vocals.
The Drums are Rediculous.
Guitar riffs are heavy as sh**.
All around Great song!
I heard another one of their songs live in Portland, Oregon called "Dead Seeds"
I can assure you its 10X better than contractor.
