Not happening. http://www.theninhotline.net/news/index.php#1229640338

RATM crowds aren't NIN crowds. It'd just be weird.

Tom Morello said in an interview that Rage has no plans on recording for 2009. Seems strange that they would tour with no new material. While I wouldn't mind seeing NIN again, I doubt I would go to this show. No disrespect to the bands. Just not my cup o' tea anymore.

Sounds like a tour I wish I was old enough to see in the early 90's so I'd gladfully see both these bands for the first time together. Maybe they can get Pitchshifter as an opening act!!!!! Wishful thinking....

both were at lollapalooza and both f'n ruled at lolla. I'm gonna go out on a limb having seen rage 3 times since they've been back arond.....and say I haven't seen a metal pit or metal show this year that has came anywhere near the energy or a rage pit/show. May the rage fist be held high and proud for many years to come

though i did nearly sh** my pants (maybe sharted a little) i agree that its probably bullsh**, as for the torture happy "fresh fist in your back", yeah dude your right, NIN does suck, now that we got that out of the way we can both go hand in hand to some awesome fall out boy concert or something and then engage in anal sex in the back of my VW beetle..... Trent is a good musician who produces good music you numb nut, just shut the f*** up and deal with how pretentious he is, all of us have.

ayers-

I didn't go to Lolla cuz it's expensive considering there were a small handful of bands i actually wanted to see and Rage and NIN were playing different nights, but I did drive up to Alpine in Wisconsin to see Rage last summer and it was insane the kind of energy there. And it had rained all day so it was a giant hill of mud that night.

...and pitchshifter would be a cool opener, are they even around anymore?

To post #11:

Yeah, I know it's weird that RATM has only been touring but haven't been releasing new material. Just because old bands only get paid to tour doesn't mean they need to make a new album. Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Sacred Reich, D.R.I. and Thin Lizzy have all been touring for the last few years but (almost) never got to release new material again.

It's probly more that Reznor has a huge ego and doesn't want to lose the spotlight to RATM. Coz let's be honest, I would piss on my own face to see both of these bands on the same tour. Their fans aren't all THAT divergent. RATM = anti-system. NIN = drugs + industrial = anti-system, pretty much. Just in a less political way.

^the new NIN is balls compared to the old stuff. Pretty Hate Machine was great. The Fragile remains my fav. Yeah, pigs, sure, but RATM tends to go for the more anti-corporation and white-house conspiracy thing than the cops ruin everything thing. Which is, to me, more political.

psythe: yeah i see what you mean, makes sense. NIN will atack pop culture icons alot mroe too as opposed to straight political figures. but man rage can throw down a good f*** pigs track, like their cover version of NWA's f*** the police? aaaaah doesnt get much better than that. when i got cuffed for possesion in my car, i tried my fastest to roll my iPod over to that song before they threw my a$$ out onto the pavement, couldnt make it though......just flyin a little to high in the clouds

ahah that IS a good cover. although I gotta say, can't stand NWA. I know they're the originals from way back and all that, but I just can't dig em. I think it's Ice Cube that puts me off, mostly.
