Dofka Parts Ways with Guitarist Stu Dowling

Ohio's Dofka have issued the following updates regarding the departure of guitarist Stu Dowling and their upcoming album:

"We've been quite busy playing shows, recording tracks for tribute cds, rehearsing, writing new material, working on the DOFKA cd. Andrew went to Texas to play some Acoustic shows with Forest Of The Soul. Jim recording and producing Vicious Cycle and The Illustrations. It's been non-stop! We've been meaning to post an update for quite some time, please forgive us. Here's what's happening:"

"First off we have parted ways with Guitarist Stu Dowling. Stu is a 1 in a million talent, you are not going to find a better shredder this side of the planet! However, it was something we needed to do to keep business 'business' and make progress with the band."

"Since we began tracking the new cd(February) we had only seen Stu at the studio/rehearsal space 2 or 3 times. He resides quite far from the bands central station, we are located in another state. It seemed difficult for Stu to keep a consistent rehearsal schedule with us and it was obvious he was loosing interest in the project."

"In the months passing, Stu expressed he was not pleased with the musical direction we were going. As you all know, we are a traditional CLASSIC METAL band. We made it clear we are not making a 360 stylistically."

"We are sure he is better off playing his own brand of complex thrashing metal! Last we talked to Stu he mentioned finding some local musicians, a killer Double Bass drummer, and a guitarist that riffs and Arps all over the place. We're anxious to hear what his project has to offer the METAL community. We want everyone to know how much we respect his talent and we wish him all the success in the world!"

"For the time being, we will continue working as a 4 piece."

"We will return to playing live March 2009 with the new CD in hand."

"The track listing for the new cd.

1. Humanity Bleak
2. World On Fire
3. Tragedy Remains
4. 2nd God
5. Blood Runs Black
6. Evocation
7. This Sacred Flame
8. The Bitter End
9. Immaculate Lie
10. 23 Pine"
