Sweden based metal sextet MARIONETTE recently completed the Reiterfestspiele 2008 tour of Europe with DIE APOKALYPTISCHEN REITER, MUSTASCH, and HONIGDIEB. This was MARIONETTE’s first full tour in support of Spite, the band’s debut album which was released in April across Europe and September in North America. Bassist and founding member Mikael Medin had the following to say regarding the tour and the band’s upcoming dates in the UK.

"We had really fantastic time on the road with Die Apokalyptischen Reiter, Mustasch, and Honigdieb. We really could not have asked for better touring mates for our kick-off tour in support of Spite. Everyone was fantastic the whole tour, and the crowds each night really seemed to enjoy what we are all about. We can’t wait to hit Germany, Austrla, Switzerland, and Czech Republic again. We have a video blog from the tour that we want everyone to check out here."

"Our time in the road is by no means over. We have a short UK tour set up for early next year. We have gotten such a positive response from the UK so far and we really can’t wait to get out there and tear up each club every night. There are more gigs to be confirmed, we will soon announce them so stay tuned in on our Myspace Page and Official Website. Until then, rock on and see you in the mosh pit!"

The following tour dates are confirmed for MARIONETTE in the UK:

01/17 – Academy 2, Newcastle, UK
01/19 – Bar Academy, Birmingham, UK
01/20 – Academy 2, Bristol, UK
01/21 – Bar Academy Islington, London, UK
