Nightwish Vocalist Anette Olzon Leaves The Stage In Tears
Band Photo: Nightwish (?)
Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon left the stage crying on Monday, November 10, while preforming "The Poet and the Pendulum" in Belo Horizone, Brazil. This happened about six songs into the set and cut short the bands performance.
Videos showing what happened are already posted to Youtube and can be seen below.
Marko handled the rest of the song and made a short speech saying something like "Anette is going through a hard time in life right now."
No further details are currently available.

Ugh, I hope all the d***s who criticize poor Anette all the time are happy now...it's terrible the way they treat that women just because she's not Tarja. She's a person too dammit, I'm pretty sure she realizes whose shoes she's trying to fill and she's just being herself. Poor girl must be under a lot of damn pressure.
Even if some people don't like Nightwish, that's no reason to make someone feel bad.
Anyways, the crowd was immature to make her feel bad; at least she has the courage to go on stage for something she cares for in the first place. It's a tough position. I think this not only shows disrespect to Anette, but to the rest of the band members as well. A lot of people out there enjoy this singer; other people may not, but that's no reason to sink as low as that.
I also agree with post 5.

I love Anette and I really do like Tarja. It is true that some songs should not be sung by Anette because its not her style, but songs like Nemo and Wish I Had an Angel, I enjoy Anettes versions better. She said that it was the smoke machine that was messing up her throat and she couldn't sing alot of people are not buying that but still we don't have to know and have no right to know what really happened so leave it alone, if she says thats what happened then I believe it. Long Live Nightwish
I agree with GoForthAndDie. Poor Anette! She is crucified because stupid people expect her to be someone she is not. How can she be anyone other than herself? I imagine the Tarja "fans" on youtube saying nasty things about Anette are about 14 years old. I really feel for this Anette. She is a good singer and is giving it a good effort, but because her style is much different than her predecessor; ignoramuses are totally trashing her as a person. I heard she has a child too. One day that child may read some of that junk and wonder why total strangers post on forums nasty things. It's sad. Very sad. These people can’t just prefer Tarja’s style, they have to completely bash Anette. This is so typical of adolescent girls who think they know everything yet are probably barfing up their food in order to try to look like some supermodel somewhere, thereby destroying their vocal chords in the process and henceforth will never be able to sing as good as either Tarja or Anette. Pathetic.
Ok so I just read the other news clip. It seems people were giving her the finger and screaming Tarja... JERKS! Ok Brazil... Why would someone pay to see the band they, if they weren't willing to give the new singer a chance? What good can possibly come from doing that? They ruined the concert and cut it short for everyone... They created a whole bunch of drama... and they hurt Anette's feelings (there's only so much anyone can take, famous or not we are all human)... And under no circumstances was their booing going to make Tarja magically appear to finish the concert. I don't get why they would pay to come and ruin a concert... Disruptive losers.
If I was in this band, I’d be marking off cities to never return to based on how the crowd was. But I guess then I wouldn’t be making much money… Mind you I'd probably never be famous because at the first chance I'd tell these people where to go and how to get there... And I wouldn't be able to bite my tongue so eloquently. I think fame is all about that: Being nice to stupid people in the public eye and biting your tongue. bleh... not for me.
No one was boo-ing her. And after she left they were chanting her name for her to come back. I honestly havent heard much of the new singer, but it seems to me that if shes going to be in Nightwish she cant keep walking off-stage. If people dont like her taking over as a singer she needs to get out there and prove herself to them, make them understand why she's in this band. No one is going to cut her any slack for consistent walk-offs. People pay money to see them and speaking for myself I would be p***ed if the person I paid to see sing walked off-stage in the middle of a set. Grow a thicker skin, hon, cause there are more shows coming. Or if you cannot handle the pressure, step down and let the band get on with finding someone who can fulfill their obligations. Get out there. Pick up the microphone and belt it out. Show them why you are in the band and walk off after you know you've put on a great show.

Geez, you could have at least posted a picture of the proper singer. The picture posted is of the former singer Tarja Turunen who left the band in 2005.
