Rage Against The Machine To Record New Album?

According to a Twistedear.com, Rage Against The Machine is apparently readying to record their first album of new material in nearly ten years. The report says that the band is in talks of recording their new album for their longtime label Sony and expect to release it in 2009, a source explained: "We're hopeful, but a new album is far from definite."

Frontman Zack de la Rocha, who just recently started a new band One Day As A Lion, also spoke to Los Angeles Times last month about the possibility of new material, saying:

"We’re going to keep playing shows - we have a couple of big ones happening in front of both conventions. As far as us recording music in the future, I don’t know where we all fit with that. We’ve all embraced each other’s projects and support them, and that’s great."

Yeah, I've been waiting for them to put out a new album since their reunion too. If the band will actually have a new album, this will be the best comeback album yet, along with Judas Priest's Angel of Retribution, Bad Brains' Build a Nation, Metallica's Death Magnetic, AC/DC's Black Ice, Cynic's Traced in Air, The Offspring's Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, Slayer's Christ Illusion and Trouble's Simple Mind Condition.

F.A.N, I never really listen to the radio other than the classic rock station at work. The hardrock and alternitive stations just suck anymore, so I don't feel the need to waste my time and ears.

A new Rage album is needed, just not another Renegades. Saw them live end of last summer and back in 1997 and 2000. Always a good show.

But I LOVE RATM. I think the bass had more presence than the guitar. Hell, teh DRUMS were more present than that f***ing hack reeoowrrr-reooowrrrr-reooowwwrrrrin' all over the f***ing place. They could shut his noisy a$$ off and Newstead him right off of the album entirely, and I wouldn't be one little bit upset about it.

Not all of it will be domestic of course, they have issues with human rights and politics abroad--but I suspect their hatred for Bush (his buffoonery, crony-ism, criminal negligence of Americans in dire need, etc.) will take center stage..should be brutal.

I'll bet Zach has mountains of vitriol waiting for the next RATM, One Day as a Lion surely wasn't enough to get all that out.
