Am I Blood drummer Mickey has posted a new studio diary about recording the drums for the band's upcoming new album:

"As I promised you, there's a somekind of diary for you about recording the drums for our upcoming album.

"I arrived to Am I Blood's HQ and a very own studio in the middle of August. I recieved all the demoversions of the songs a couple of months ago so I had a lot of time to practise all the beats down..so Janne and I were both very optimistic and full of energy.

"Because almost all the guitars and basses were already recorded with the demo-drums I only had to lay down all the drums perfectly on my own.

"We spent first day tuning the drums and searching perfect sounds. For sure we had a lot of problems with electricity and some studio equipments.. and when I say this wasn't only day when we had to struggle with so many different "not from this world" problems I really mean it.

"But anyway, in second day we were ready to hit some strokes. After a couple of "warm-up runs" it was time to push the record button. At first I picked the songs which I thought would be most "easiest" to catch. And as I always, it just doesn't go that way. The less difficult ones turns to be hardest and more progressive songs turns to be easiest. But you know, that's the way the fucking cookie crumbles. We nailed few songs and the spirit between Janne and I was very promising.

"I'm not going to blabber basic shit about what happend in this and that day. Because you know, we were recording drums so basicly it was me sitting behind my kit and Janne sitting in the control room screaming ideas for me. I have to say we changed a lot of things in drums comparing to my "demo-drums". Janne as a songwriter and as a producer had brilliant ideas coming all the time.

"Even though we didn't have any time-limits because of our own studio we wanted to nail all the songs in one week. We worked approx. 20 hours per day.. usually I fell in sleep when sun was rising. So we didn't have much time to rest but this didn't affect to our main goal because we both are perfectionists in every aspect. There was no blood but a lot of sweating and few tears coming out of us. But after the last song, I'm pretty sure that even "man in the moon" heard our sigh of relief. Altough we had a lot of problems with computers, microphones etc. this session was a blast! We have known each other with Janne many years now so we both know how to work together. I guarantee that this album is going to be a worth of waiting for.

"My drumkit in this session was:

-Tama starclassic maple drums
-Pearl ultracast snare
-Sabian / zildjian cymbals
-Pearl elminator pedals
-Gibraltar rack system with pearl cymbal holders"
