Dark Tranquillity has signed on to Sweden’s “Official Gateway” in order to help promote Swedish music on an international scale. Close-up Magazine has chosen “Focus Shift” from the band’s 2007 release “Fiction” to help represent the rock/metal/punk category.

The official website of Sweden is maintained by the Swedish Institute, a public agency responsible for promoting interest in Sweden abroad, and provides you with everything you ever wanted to know about Sweden without actually going there.

A section of the nation’s website is devoted to the musical artists of the country and is broken down by genres. Each genre section features popular acts and, aside from the newly added Dark Tranquillity, includes internationally recognized bands like In Flames, Entombed, Candlemass, Meshuggah and Hammerfall. The area gives visitors to the site a sampling of each group’s sound, as well as fun facts about the bands and links to Swedish record labels.

Facts and figures about the nation and tips on where to live, study and eat are just a taste of what else the site has to offer.
