Trivium have announced that they will be releasing their fourth album this year on September 30th. Although no official word has been given yet on the name of the album, it is rumoured to be called "Shogun."

Frontman Matt Heafy says of the new album: "For the first time, we can't look at our songs and say who the riffs sound like. We're really making our own stuff and our own kind of music and art form, and that's exciting."

Trivium will also be a part of the Unholy Alliance tour this year with Slayer and Mastodon.

"You mean we don't have to sound exactly like Metallica? What a marvel idea! Let's try it!"

Yeah, how funny is that? They're releasing their fourth album, and it's the first one that has riffs that don't sound like another band. How lame. It's quite sad actually that they would even say something like that about their own music. I know if it was MY music, I'd be like "fxck you, this is us, if you don't like it, don't listen." These guys are whores.

Dirk, you poser, we don't care about your whining, if you wanna be a Trivium nutsucker, do it somewhere else. I can't believe people like these guys, they are TEERRRRRIIIBBLLLEEEE. And what a moron for being public about that, it shows what their motives have been from the get go. It will probably sound exactly like their last album anyways.

I mean, I understand that it would be wrong to assume things if this was their first album, but it's not. These guys are 0 for 3 so far, and a fourth doesn't stand to be a decent prospect, either.

Post 7, this release is as close to "automatically shxtty" as anyone's going to release this year.

It's pretty obvious that they're pigeonholed and by saying that sh** out loud in public is like saying "My band is unoriginal. On our new album, we actually sound like Trivium!" But that's a crooked angle because who really knows what Trivium sounds like? I've heard their CDs, but I'm not sure I've heard what THEY sound like, and if I have, I didn't like it, and that trend is likely to continue with all future releases.

As horrible as the new Trivium album sounded..they are even worse in a live setting. It was so obvious they were trying to sound just like Metallica....ridiculous!!

You're all saying how sh** Trivium are and how people are sad to listen to them, but, you lot are the saddest bunch of c***s I've ever seen. You're spending you're free time on these forums slagging off a band because what? You're just a bunch of sadact little geeks or something? Why don't you go get a f***ing life. Oh, and all you people saying they sound like Metallica, what a bunch of horsesh**, there are plenty of bands I've heard that sound like Metallica wannabes and if you actually pay attention to Trivium's music (yeah like hell you would i bet) they barely sound like them because Metallicas music is much softer and p***y-ish.

^first off, have you ever listened to the Master of Puppets album? That last statement you just made is bullsh**. And yes, I have listened to Trivium's music, more than any person who doesn't like them should. At least half of my diehard Metalhead friends I hang out with, adore these f***ers, because they sound like Metalllica with contemporary Metal growls. It's pathetic. Sure I recognize the talent, the potential, for this band to be something more, but so far, they're just a blatant rip-off. I can't honestly bring myself to like this band.

And to how you claim we must need to get alife because apparetly, we spend all of our free time on here... How long did it take you to type that comment? All f***in' day? Because that is the only way I can see that it would be possible for you to make such a stupid statement.

I saw Trivium LIVE and they suck a$$....I saw them twice, as a matter of fact. They were trying very hard to sound like metallica or go in thrash type direction. My friends and I were all in agreement that they were blatantly ripping off guitar passages from Metallica...So I was not the only one who saw and hear it that night. Guess what, I also bought The Crusade...biggest mistake of my life.....I hope the new album is better than the "METALLICA" Crusade....lol
