Rock Against Diabetes, the first of it’s kind in delivering a HD interactive worldwide internet broadcast of a charity concert festival has announced RICHIE KOTZEN (ex-Poison, Mr. Big) has been added to the roster, as well as launching a competition to find a band to take the opening slot at the August 23rd, 2008 worldwide broadcast, and perform with greats such as KARENVAL (featuring Dario Lorina), MAGNETICO (featuring Rafael Moreira – Paul Stanley, Rock The Cradle), and BUMBLEFOOT (Ron Thal, Guns N Roses) at the Rock Against Diabetes 2008 pre-show kickoff party August 22nd at Club ROX in Las Vegas. New Blade Guitars endorsee Steve Brand (Rock Against Diabetes Music Director) will also be taking part in the pre-show party gun-slinging for Thal. Touted as “one of the best guitar players in the world, a voice on par with some of the greatest rock/soul singers and creative songwriting, Richie Kotzen has had an incredible journey in the world of music. In 2006 as a solo artist, Kotzen was the opening act for the legendary Rolling Stones A Bigger Bang Tour in Japan.

As previously reported, Rock Against Diabetes has decided to find the opening act where else, but on the music Social Networks of the internet. Myspace, Facebook, Garageband, PureVolume and the multitude of other musical communities will be invited to submit their music, and videos to Rock Against Diabetes to be judged, and pared down to a Top 10, that will be judged by a panel of musicians, promoters, television personalities and industry giants.
