i've got it pre-ordered already...and as with the new priest, opeth, IE and metallica among many others, i REFUSE to listen to ANY samples or songs until the albums' release.
i have the same question as cruor regaurding the new deicide.
now playing: death angel - voracious souls

Was it good? Hmm, well the real question is "Is it nearly as good as Stench of Redemption" to which the answer is no. Why they would abandon such a winning formula I've no idea.
They basically threw out all the melody and decided to just make the thing brutal through and through. The problem is that while no songs are bad on the album, none are particularly memorable either. Even Santolla (who is creeping up my fav guitarists list because of TSoR) can't really save it. The writing on the album... hell everything on the album just sounds like a lackluster, slightly more brutal Stench.

Well ecards are there to give you a taste and hopefully make you want it more. They are good for making sure you don't waste your money too. But if you're already a huge fan, salivating in anticipation, then they are clearly not geared toward you except maybe to whet your appetite.
Although, I agree that I've experienced a sort of let down or lack of anticipation after listening to a few ecards myself.

Just bought the album and I'm listening to it right now. Expect a review to be forthcoming. It's pretty much everything I could of hoped for and then some. The track with Mikael Akerfeldt on lead vocals - well, it's probably the one and only instance where the term "growling duet" can ever be applied. And yes, if that sounds awesome, that's because it is.

f***!
So apparantly my fav record store are c***s, forgetting to order in AngL. And on top of that, because the US supplier only does infrequent shipments, AND they've run out of copies, I have to wait OVER two weeks, maybe three for my copy to arrive.
God damn it. Least from what I've read so far it's pretty spectacular.

I broke with Opeth and listened to the tracks they posted online for Watershed, but under no circumstances will I be doing this with the new Ihsahn album. The next five days will be absolute torture while I wait to be able to buy this.
