You really thought so? There was so much echo in the vocals you couldn't decipher any mistakes. But if you're meaning his vocal style then yeah it's obviously changed a bit in the almost 20 years since Justice was released.
Now Playing: Manilla Road - Necropolis
c'mon..who really cares?...if you would leave the spot this headline sits in blank...it would look great,..in art school they called it negative space design.
give us a story about how big candlemasse's guitarists schlossenspicer is,..might as well after you attract all of the gay folk here with metallica stories.
Man, I grew up with these guys but have since become emersed in the Scandinavian death scene and Metallica just can't compare with those bands. And don't tell me it's their age cause Slayer is the same age and can still blow away almost any band out there live. I dunno man.

i truly think this guy is cool. i feel the same way. more and more metallica for the metallisheep. just wait till the damn flop of a cd comes out. the magazines, mtv, vh1, etc. will have metallica every other day. metallica gained the crown in the 90s and lost it at the turn of the century. plz just disappear into obscurity!!!!!!
I have never seen how you can compare slayer and metallica they started out in the same area but very soon broke into diferent paths, metallica wanted to progress as musicians, try new sh** and didn't really care what the audience thought about it.
I think it's safe to say slayer never matured as musicians they've been stuck in the same mindset for 20 plus years. but i do love dave lombardo.
Hetfield was a great vocalist but always was, and always will be, a terrible singer. Somewhere during the Metallica sellout he tried changing his vocal style to that of a singer (I guess because he wanted to be a pop diva). I don't mind him "singing" on the crap Metallica songs, but he also ruins the good Metallica songs with this nonsense.
^ i thought his singing voice was pretty good before he destroyed his vocal chords on the never ending black album tour. i think that's more why he changed his style. true they 180ed their musical direction, but if hetfield had kept his initial vocal style, with as much as metallica tours, he probably wouldnt be able to talk anymore.
but yeah, i HATE his voice now. it does take away from the old-school songs, but it doesnt even sound good when they play material from the loads either.
i dont buy that "matured" as musicians bullsh** either. metallica's change was a regression, not a maturation. even though i like load, it is a significant step down from the first five.
now playing: I - warriors
Can't wait for the new album and James sounds great as always. If u fags don't like Metallica or the way they sound, or how they have changed, then DON'T FN LISTEN TO THEM. Metallica haters are worse than a bunch of high school girls with their periods. Stop b****in. listen to
In between my periods I like to comment on various forms of entertainment--both what I like as well as what I don't like. Metallica has amazingly been at the top of both lists at one time or another. James does not sound great as a singer. Only blind followers will say otherwise.
I'm waiting for Metallica to be in the middle of a set, then they all transform into fxcking rainbow ponies and trot off into the distance. Hey, it may sound ridiculous, but it'd be easier to understand than what WE'RE seeing. That fast part in One sounds terrible. I think if Lars can't play it anymore, then he shouldn't try to play it live, especially since it makes him look like a dusty old man. Did anyone see his dad in Some Kind of Monster? He looked like Dumbledore! I liked the part where he tells Lars the music sucked. Especially since it did.
Yeah, I never heard anything official about why James changed his vocal style, but I remember hearing live performance audio and seeing videos of them sometime after the black album and hating his delivery. I really don't care to ever see Metallica again. I actually liked the Black album a lot. It's cool that he actually sang some on that album, but old Metallica without the more gruff voice and edge just doesn't work for me - even Sad But True and other black album songs are weak here.

well, i wasnt impressed at all....still the same ol metallica...nothing new, nothing special...although james's voice is going to hell, you can really hear it on harvester of sorrow....
