AC/DC Finish Recording New Album
AC/DC has finished recording its new album and is currently mixing the effort for a late 2008 release, the group's vocalist Brian Johnson revealed this morning (Tuesday, April 22) during an interview with Washigton D.C.'s DC 101 radio station. Johnson has apparently left the studio in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada where AC/DC guitarists Angus and Malcolm Young have remained with producers Mike Fraser and Brendan O'Brien in order to complete work on the CD. Brian also stated that the band will next work on getting the artwork done and take care of the promotional activities in connection with the release, to be followed by a tour.
Rumours are circulating that the following AC/DC tour will be their last but no word light has been shed on the situation yet.

Meh.
Let me know when Angus learns a new chord or Phil Rudd learns a new beat. I don't know how yall can be this excited for the exact same cd they have been putting out since High Voltage (albeit with different songs), I mean I am happy listening to Highway to Hell and Back In Black without the need to go spend another $15 on the same f***in cd with different songs.
For all you shortsighted people who just don't get it...these guys (ac/dc) have done something so unique and amazing all these years that they "make" it look simple. But I challenge you to try and make this "easy" stuff up yourselves and have the kind of career they have had. I will do you one better and have you even try to play the song "thunderstruck" and tell me you do not find a new respect for these guys.
Rock on!!
come on people. acdc have no talent at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. why is there only a few people that realize this. something has to be done to get this crap off music store shelves. lesrn to like some real music. playing simple chords and amateur solos is not talent. come on peolpe are you with me
their not metal, they rule enybody's rock except zeppelin. Maiden comes third. Their real and raw, their lyrics simbolize what rock is and what a band goes through. No emotional trash or burning down church things. Respect true legends of a band with electric guitars, drums, bass and vocal.
well I partially agree that AC/DC might not be the most "talented" band in the technical sense, they are not Rush, but what they are talented at is writing some very catchy, memorable, and enjoyable rock music. Some of it might even be called timeless. In that respect, yes they are extremely talented.
I guess I don't get it? If your not a fan of AC/DC why do you bother to even come into a forum area that they are being discussed in? Just to be hateful and give your small oppinion over something that you would probably never in a lifetime achieve or even aspire to. The music and talent "is" the simplicity. Music today is so over done and over the top that you loose the sense of "wow, I could do that.." which in turn makes it very "real" and awesome and fun! If your looking for "technical" prowess than these guys are definitely not your bag. But if you want music that you can imagine as your own then you have found the right bunch of guys to admire and have a good time listening to.
Keep on Rockin'
To post 22 - whatever - AC/DC actually have a nice groove, and they know how to play good songs...so it works for everyone. I am just happy that this band contributed some pretty bada$$ tunes to our collective lives. Anyway, yeah I listen to so much metal, and this happens to be a metal site - that I accidently called AC/DC metal. Sorry I ain't an expert on rock or metal. Please forgive me...he he
To post 19 - yeah you are probably right. I can't play a guitar to save my life-I admit that..however..I can sing pretty damn well. I suspect I could sing as well as you can play your guitar. The point is enjoy the fukkin' musik - if you like it. ac/dc seems to be having a great time entertaining everyone.
^I never really thought of Motorhead as so damned critical to rock/Metal. Important, I guess so; good, definintly, but a Godfather of a genre? Not so much imo.
Zeppelin on the other hand, set the standard for rock/Metal for generations to come. The rampant touring schedule, amazing live shows, and a desire for constant musical expansion beyond anything they had previously done. I also believe they had something to do with either the creation/popularization of the guitar pedal, because Jimmy Paige was trying to recreate sounds that Mr. Hendrix had made on HIS guitar, and that was the only way he could do it. (correct me if someone knows this to be blatantly wrong, I forget where I found that tidbit lol)
Led Zeppelin's virtuosity and masterpieces have so far been only really matched by early Metallica really, in my opinion. I'm still waiting for the next music-changing band that decides to take the mantle upon themselves; so far the throne still sits empty.
Now Playing: Machine Head- "Ten Ton Hammer"
^Godfathers of metal maybe not but Motorhead is probably the fathers of extreme metal. Before Motorhead we had Black Sabbath and Priest (who were pretty much playing rockish metal), Motorhead fused metal with the punk attitude and it was heavy and fast. Next we have Venom who took the Motorhead sound almost verbatum; added satanic lyrics and darkened the sound a bit, took the tempo and the heaviness up a couple of notches and there we go Extreme Metal is born and the rest is obvious history, Metallica takes influence while Slayer tries to imitate them on their first album but then goes even darker then what Venom was doing and Celtic Frost blackened it, birth of thrash. The rest should be obvious history.
^Motorhead were pretty critical in the combining of metal and punk. Led Zep had a definite, obvious, undeniable influence on metal. Just like Black Sabbath :)
I think the problem isn't that there aren't music-changing bands out there, but rather that they're drowning in oceans of mediocre music-lovers that want to be musicians.
Best live act... by a mile.....!!!! Great albums since 1974!!!
The best teams win premierships whether its the EPL, NFL, NBA or NRL!!!
AC/DC have and will continue to win the rock premierships (RPL) because they play rock as the best team (especially live) and stay together!!!
That's why there the best and most underated ....!!!
Winner RPL :) !!!!
How funny it is to find so many Angus around here, I guess you all learned the simple Back in Black riff and now you think that AC/DC is just that... So do us, AC/DC fans a favour, grab those 3 chords, and create a song that goes around the world for 28 years, and I assure you guys, that you´ll be famous and rich. Pathetic.
AC/DC do play the same songs, whop-dee-sh**! Angus Young admitted it too because they don't and won't change or sell themselves to mainstream music (ie: Metallica, who also rock). Anyhow, easy to play, hard to play, who gives a sh**, the music rocks, single bass beat, awesome chunky riffs, good drinking foot tapping muscle car powered rock 'n roll. Long Live Rock 'n Roll, none of this emo go hang yourself depressing BS stations are playing today. These guys sing simple lyrics, booze, girls, cars and rock.......from Chuck Berry to AC/DC is where the heart of rock 'n roll is.
Absolutely agree...celta. Thanks for speaking out! By the way to all you true fans if you want to hear a good interview with Brian Johnson go to acdcnews.com and scroll down to were they talk about Brian speaking with a DJ by the name of John DeBella ... enjoy!
AC/DC is good ole' Rock-n-Roll, inspired by the likes of Chuck Berry. These are hard working, true to themselves musicians who've been on a highway to hell for 30 years. Pay some respect to a band that has sold over 150 million records. btw they ARE NOT metal. If AC/DC songs are so easy to play, then how come when you go to youtube and listen to all the wankers with sg's trying to play the songs they sound like sh**e? You fools can't pick up on the small nuances that make a great riff sound good and simple.
the closest that I've seen to a music-changing band so far is Lamb of God. Ashes of the Wake was on the verge of something great, bu then with Sacrament, they descended back into the mold. Still good in m opinion, but I'm no longer looking to them for any "Eureka's" in Metal's direction. Im just going to have to do it myself :D
Now Playing: Meshuggah- Bleed

Thanks for this one Marty
Alot of people can play ac/dc music but, nobody play it as good as they can. Must of the guitarist that say they sux are people that are to stupid to be in a band and set in there room all day and only want to play music with fast progressions to make up for the lack of the drums, bass and a singer. It's takes all 5 members to get the sound that ac/dc produces.
Thank god thank god im so excited cant wait dont care if its great classic or only has one good single itll still blow all this modern crap away AND I will get to see the band tour can not wait to see em for the first time and you know they will tour fremantle or perth australia.
