Yep, I agree with Grindf***ingCore, as far as I'm concerned pseudo-'celebrity' endorsement should NO WAY be part of true metal. If Weston Cage is a metal fan I guess he can't help who his dad is, but he should not have allowed himself to be wheeled out to give some showbiz spin to an event that doesn't need that sort of thing.
@Post 4 & 5: so what if Weston Cage introduced Dimmu Borgir? I'm pretty sure the people watching the show did not come to see Weston Cage introduce Dimmu Borgir, it just so happened that he's Nic's son, and hence, according to you both, a "pseudo"-celebrity. What if he really wanted to introduce Dimmu Borgir, regardless of who his father is? I mean, if I was given that chance, I'd take it. So really, you guys don't have to go bash the kid for agreeing to introduce a band he apparently likes. And besides, no one else made a big deal out of it. Nic Cage didn't go to some press con and announce to the world "Hey, my son just introduced Dimmu Borgir!".
So you guys are telling me that if you were the son of a celebrety and had the opportunity to introduce and meet a band such as Dimmu you would not do it? Piss all over that man, I'd be back stage partying with 'em. For all the crap celebreties go throguh they deserve moments like this now and then.
dude gytrash and grindcore you guys are f***ing retarded. That sh** is so funny to me "celebrity endorsement" and "true metal". im pretty sure dimmu allowed him to go introduce them. you guys are trying to be elitist metalheads and it just makesyou look f***ing stupid
Gytrash and Grindf***ingcore, the kid is 17 and a Dimmu fan. I think its awesome that he went the extra mile for a band he loves. You would do the same thing! It has nothing to do with "endorsements" that would be him on the cover of a Dimmu album or commercial. I think you both are just jelouse that it was not you hat got the chance to do the deed.
I'd like to think I was one of the more 'trve' frostheads around this site over the past 2 years, so what if Nic Cage's son introduced them? It isn't like they've been too 'trve' to Black Metal since 'For All Tid'...
Of course, I'd be even more impressed with Weston Cage if it turned out he was in a Black Metal band...Then I'd have total respect...
I'm a staunch fan of Immortal, Unlord, Satyricon, Belphegor, Enslaved and few others...Admittedly, I'm more of a blackened/death fan. Cynics regular playing of Xasthur has prompted me to revisit them/him recently though.
Dimmu are good at what they do imho, the music is semi-complex, lush and fairly heavy, all things I like.....The videos leave alot to be desired, but again they're f***ing music videos. On a related note, who cares who introduces whom.

Good to see a relative to a celebrity introducing a band like dimmu. Unfortunately I might not be able to make it to 930 club due to financial reasons.
