Iced Earth Post "I Walk Among You" Single Samples Online

Audio samples from ICED EARTH's forthcoming single, "I Walk Among You", have been posted on the group's MySpace page.
With the framework for the Armageddon of Man firmly laid with the band’s
2007 full-length release, "Framing Armageddon - Something Wicked Part I", ICED EARTH is set to launch the next installment of Jon Schaffer's "Something Wicked" saga with the release of "I Walk Among You" on the following dates:
Germany - June 6
Rest of Europe - June 9
USA/Canada - June 10
The full-length studio follow-up to "Something Wicked Part I" is due for release in fall of 2008.
The new single and proceeding full-length studio album mark the return to the band of longtime frontman Matt Barlow, whose dark and sinister tones are the perfect fit to narrate the intense and viscous annihilation of mankind set in motion with the birth of the story’s main character, "Set Abominae", in "Something Wicked Part II". The single will allow fans to get a glimpse of the bright future for the band, and the perhaps not-so-bright future for humanity as we now know it.
The single will feature three songs, an exclusive version of the song "I Walk Alone" and a few tracks from "Framing Armageddon (Something Wicked Part 1)" with new vocal performances by Matt Barlow. Due to the re-tracking of the lead vocals these tracks have been remixed and remastered. There will be an iTunes-exclusive version of the single "I Walk Among You" that features "A Charge To Keep" which has also been re-sung by Matt, remixed and re-mastered.
The video for "I Walk Alone" is being filmed in early April.
All tracks were recorded at Jon Schaffer's studio, Soaring Eagle Sound, and mixed and mastered at Morrisound. The single, and following full-length platter will be released by Steamhammer/SPV.

^ agreed, for the first time ever i'm not anticipating anything special from these guys. i hope that the new one will be better than framing armageddon, but since it was written at the same time and with the same mindset as framing, i'm guessing it will be similar.
@ Cynic - you a fan of "the glorious burden" at all? because demons and wizards' debut album was basically a blueprint for it.
Demons & Wizards are great I think, download "Heaven Denies" and if that doesn't have you head banging nothing will!
Terminator - I have "Burnt Offerings" and "Night Of The Stormrider" which I've borrowed from a friend but nothing since then (apart from the single off Framing Armageddon which I thought was pretty good). I'll have to check out some more I guess.
Now Playing: Rush - "Natural Science"
I definitely like hearing Barlow's voice again, but I am a little bit in the above camp of losing interest. I wasn't a fan of Owens' vocals in Framing Armageddon, but the music did little for me too. It seemed very sterile and over produced and even less heavy in some ways than past material.

These clips are clearly to show Barlow is back. There's no signature Schaffer razor riffage! Still...can't wait.
