The Cast Pattern Sets Release Date, Tour Dates

The Cast Pattern has set the release date of their upcoming self-titled album as May 27, 2008.

Those familiar with the TV show CSI will know that that a cast pattern is “the direction of blood on a wall after someone is shot” says guitarist Chris Hess. As direct as blood splatter, the Lawrence, KS outfit plays music that has the savage-ness of hardcore with a tech-metal element and a straight ahead groove that sets to mosh pit swinging. “We like technical and chaotic bands but after a while your brain is spending more time figuring out what’s going on than enjoying the sound, so we aim to have parts that you can lock onto without being simple” says Hess. The band have definitely accomplished their mission performing on shows with such heavyweights as As I Lay Dying, Nile, Dillinger Escape Plan, The Red Chord, Psyopus, Misery Signals, August Burns Red and The Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza

The band formed a few years ago and has grown into a tight unit, priding themselves on writing all songs together in the practice space rather than any one member bringing in material. All in their early 20’s The Cast Pattern are dedicated to their craft and eager to escape the confines of a day job as they write about in the song “Shut Your…” on the album. “It’s about working a crappy day job and having to work with people who you would never socialize with otherwise. Some people you can’t believe they are surviving like this and it’s definitely something you have to put up with rather than enjoy to make a living.”

Recently picked up by Thunderdome Touring, the band is out with Knives Exchanging Hands April through mid May, followed by a tour with Arsonists Get All The Girls May through mid July, and July into August with Dr. Acula.

Forensics is a science I study as a hobby. I am always amazed at what criminals will do to try to get away with crimes. I love most crime shows, but find that alot of them do not even come close to what really goes on in the lab and at the scene of the crime its self. Often am I called Abby from the show NCIS. Hahahaha!
