LACUNA COIL's Andrea Ferrero has issued the following update:

"I’ve been very busy with the works on the new Lacuna Coil album that has started taking shape. We feel like we’re on the right creative mood but we still wanna write a lot more material before we call it done."

Co- singer of the band Cristina Scabbia recently stated about the new album: "[the album] will leave you with your mouths open. We want to experiment, we want to try something completely different, something that will rock your faces more than ever while still being Lacuna Coil

I would love Lacuna Coil to return to the style predominatly seen in their first two albums. However, I doubt that will happen. I could see this album being a total sell-out, or possibly explore a more progressive realm.

Hope they get away from the nu-metal sound this band percieves as "American" cus it's not working for them...."Karmacode" was decent but it stinks of Disturbed/Korn/Stain'd in terms of drum and bass.

I hope Christina means it with "experiment" and "completely different" and "rock your faces"...I don't take kindly to my chain being yanked as I liked their first 4 albums quite a bit. Catchy stuff.
