Earache Records has issued the following statement on their recently released "Earache Thrash Pack" for the game "Rock Band:"

"It was warned that the newly-released EARACHE Thrash Pack for ROCK BAND would be the hardest tracks that the game had to offer and that was no lie.

"The ROCK BAND rockers community (http://www.rockband.com/rockers_home)has been absolutely THRASHED and SHREDDED to the bone in their many attempts to play the AT THE GATES classic, "Blinded By Fear" and THE HAUNTED's "D.O.A." Judging by the comments on the official ROCK BAND forums, however, out of all of the songs in the pack, EVILE's "Thrasher" seems to have given players their greatest challenge yet. Here's what some of the most hardcore ROCK BAND players in the world have to say about it:

"This satisfies my extreme metal wants for a long, long, long time. That time will be spent putting ointment on my blistered fingers due to Thrasher, no doubt." - Chief Stubbs

"Got my butt kicked in solo 2 of Thrasher." - JoshuaNeff

"Thrasher: DEAR FREAKING LORD! This song is so frikkin insane it's not even funny...When I saw the first solo I nearly crapped my pants." - Xerosnake90

"Thrasher's quick changes between beats are seriously challenging" - Contrapulator

"If you're the type who says that talk is cheap, then let these killer videos of all 3 songs show you what's got the ROCK BAND community buzzing:

Evile's "Thrasher" on Expert Guitar:

Evile's "Thrasher" on Expert Drums/Vocals:

At The Gates' "Blinded By Fear" on Expert Drums:

The Haunted's "D.O.A." on Expert Guitar:

The EARACHE Thrash Pack for ROCK BAND, available now on PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Are there requirements as to what song goes on these games, because it seems to me they picked one of At The Gates simpler tunes (drumwise)?

Admitidly I am a gameing dummy, but I have watched Guitiar hero being played (one too many times as I think it has to be the most annoying game ever made) and I am wondering what the differance is between Guitiar hero and this game is?

The difference is in this game, you can play the drums and do vocals as well as the guitar and bass.

Hm... this seems a whole hell of alot better than Guitiar hero. Maybe this one I might actually play. I had an ex who worked at Hollywood video that was attached to a Game Crazy (that my ex-bestfriend worked at too) and when that horrible irritant Guitiar hero came out that is all they did was sit around and play it! I guess being incredibly stupid is what happends when you spend your entire life in Medford Oregon!

Haha, weird because ATGs "Blinded By Fear" is pretty easy to play on guitar. Slaughter Of The Soul, now that's an a$$ of a riff to play.

Now Playing: Cannibal Corpse - "Make Them Suffer"

I was thinking the same as Andrew. Cold would have been a better choice, complexity wise, but if there are specific requirements to what "can" be played, which I can totally see for the drums since I assume it's either single-pedal, or maybe no pedal, all stick? Unless they have a double-pedal plugin or something...I dunno...Why I'm inquiring before judging lol.

Now, see, this I have a problem with...

I've beaten Guitar Hero 1, 2, 3, and Rock Band guitar on Expert, and I don't think Rock Band has ANYTING on Guitar Hero. At least, as far as the guitar goes. Guitar Hero has the hard songs already on the damn thing, and you don't need to download them.

The songs on Guitar Hero were chosen because they're GUITAR songs. If you can beat GH3 on expert, Rock Band on expert is a breeze. These songs are hard, but not compared to some of the medium shxt on even Guitar Hero 2!

Maybe I'm just being picky, but I think the only thing Rock Band has over Guitar Hero is that you can't plug your drums into Guitar Hero, but that's okay. It's GUITAR hero.

I don't see Rock Band sticking around too long. Good idea, looks good on paper, but the price, compared to how long you can really play the thing before you're sick of it doesn't even out. I bought the bundle, and played it for three months straight almost and I still feel ripped off. I'm still playing all of the Guitar Hero games. Mostly daily, actually.

I'm glad to see im not the only person who LOVES this new pack. Anyways I five starred D.O.A. and Blinded by Fear but I always mess up on the second solo on Evile's Thrasher where you gotta go back and reach the orange button and switch your fingers back to the green and red, and by that time I've used up most my energy, and how the hell do you play ANY of these songs on epxert with one drum pedal. I'm just glad we got a pack as good as this I've been waiting for songs like these ever since RB came out (you can't play Metallica forever.) I'd say this is tied with the Metallica bundle that came out, as the BEST downloadable content on RB EVER!! !f I saw another "Police" song or some gay pop sh** I was gonna go crazy.

Btw aren't there better videos you can find, I'm sure many people have done much better than what you guys have shown.

Yeah, that second solo is nuts.

I personally think Blackened on Expert is the best DLC on Rock Band.
