Running twice a year for six years straight, this Spring Jägermeister Music Tour continues the momentum with a co-headlining bill featuring Hatebreed and Type O Negative. Support will come from the Canadian metallers 3 Inches of Blood.
Hatebreed have been touring non-stop in support of their 2006 release “Supremacy” and look forward to another up-close encounter with Jägermeister. “Having the opportunity to headline the Jägermeister Music Tour like our friends from Slayer and Slipknot is a tremendous honor.” says frontman, Jamey Jasta. “Jägermeister has supported heavy music in so many different ways and they continue to bring together the best of the best in metal. The Spring Tour will be no different and co-headlining with our friends from Type O Negative makes it that much sweeter.”
New Yorkers, Type O Negative hit the metal scene in 1991. Many of today’s rockers have acknowledged the measure of Type O Negative’s influence in their own work. The band is fired up to tour with their SPV Records debut, “Dead Again.”. Peter Steele of Type O Negative says, “We’ve always had serious respect for everything Jägermeister does in music and headlining their Tour has been a long-time goal of ours. It’s an even greater accomplishment to have a co-headlining band like Hatebreed along for the ride with us.”
“We thought long and hard before putting this tour together and feel these two bands are a perfect fit for the Spring Jägermeister Music Tour,” says Rick Zeiler, Director of Strategic Marketing for Jägermeister. “We’ve been doing this long enough to know who will work well on our Tour and feel the synergy is perfect. Get ready, metal fans -- this will definitely be one of the hardest tours we've ever done!”
The Tour will rock through June and each show will be rounded out with a local Jägermeister sponsored band. For about 25 bucks, fans will not only have the opportunity to experience a great show, but also have a chance to snag some great Jägermeister prizes and giveaways like JägerMusic compilation CD’s, as well as plenty of Jägermeister shirts, hats, and more. Other prizes provided by Tour sponsors include custom items from Schecter Guitars, Peavey Electronics, and JVC Mobile Entertainment.

wow.
Type O is friends with Hatebreed? As p***ed of as I am at this, I can't claim surprise. After Slayer/Manson, anybody can pretty much tour together now. Necrophagia with Willie Nelson! Why the f*** not?! It's a perfect match!
Now Playing: Possessed- "Fallen Angel"
That's definitely a weird pairing - Type O and Hatebreed. I haven't seen Type O in many many years, and I love the latest 3iob, so I will check them out at the Ram's Head Live. At least the Jager tour is back to heavier music, because a number of them before last fall's were pretty weak.
Peter Steele has long claimed a love for hardcore. Not surprised.
It's a good thing I think...odd as it may be. This forces loyal fans of one band/genre to experience another. Some fans may come away with a little more respect for something they didn't care for. Odd but potentially beneficial I say.
I'm a big fan of middle era Type O (Bloody Kisses and the near-perfect October Rust). Hatebreed have a lot of heart and like Metallica, Trivium, Korn, Manson, etc. etc. etc. serve as a wonderful "Fischer-Price My First Hardcore Band"....Can't say much for their "I shall overcome" vibe they keep repeating.
Now Playing: Om "Pilgrimage"
Just like this thread, the actual concert goers will probably be just as polarized. Even if Type-O are fans/friends of Hatebreed, the genres are about as polar opposite as you can get (barring black metal and nu-metal). I could say Hatebreed are "nothing special." I've always found them a little boring actually, but I won't mind seeing them because I liked their new material on their Off-fest date last summer and they put on a really good show. So if all the bands "bring it" then it'll be a good show to me.
I will attend for the chance to see 3iob. I have awesome respect for their metal and its the best thing to happen to metal in years. Trust me I know, I just turned 40 and have been around banging my head when headbanging was born and have always had a knack for knowing what was really good in the metal genre and this is one of those times. I hope to buy em a beer at the show.
^ really? i thought 3iob was one of the better bands at ozzfest this past year. the vocals are hit and miss for me, but the instumentals are money. i look forward to seeing them again this summer when they reschedule their cancelled dates.
hatebreed sucks. their live shows do have a lot of energy i will admit, but their music has nothing to offer.
now playing: toxik - shotgun logic
Awesome!
I know that I'll be there for sure!
I'm not the biggest Type O Fan but that's just because I don't really have the opportunity to listen to their music.
But I am a HUGE Hatebreed and 3 Inches fan!
This'll be a night not to miss! And one not to forget either!

The only band I would really want to see on this tour is 3IOB, and I am still mad they didn't finish out their tour with Hate Eternal and The Black Dahlia Murder, so I don't think I will being to this show. Especially with Living Sacrifice in town 2 days later.
