Band Photo: Metallica (?)
According to a news article on Mother Jones, music by bands including Deicide (who's song "Fuck Your God" is declared the most used), Dope, Drowning Pool, Metallica, AC/DC, Rage Against The Machine, Hedpe and others has been used in American military prisons and on bases as torture devices. The songs are said to induce sleep deprivation, "prolong capture shock," disorient detainees during interrogations, and are apparently handy for drowning out screams. Based on a leaked interrogation log, news reports, and the accounts of soldiers and detainees, here are some of the songs that guards and interrogators reportedly chose:

Classical musical is oft too introspective to make good torture. It only worked in Clockwork because the guy loved that particular piece so much and they related it very effectively to very negative connotations. For me, the ultimate torture would be christmas carrols over and over and over a-f***ing-gain. Dear god I hate those bloody songs... That, or a young girl's screaming/crying/wailing/shrieking, hahah. That just grates my nerves like nothing else.

but see now i wonder if the military purposely picked 1) terrible songs that they knew anyone (no matter what language) would hate and make their heads explode, 2) because they actually thought some of the songs on the list were actually "badass" (emphasis on the quotations) and would terrorize muslims, or 3) because they actually are true evil masterminds and have researched what songs can trigger certain patterns in the human mind and make a person go clinically insane.............im hoping its the 3rd but unfortunately number 2 seems to be the case by looking at some of the choices (i can just picture someone with really bad musical taste playing die motherf***er to a prisoner and thinking the whole situation is so bad ass............because the song really isn't). and if thats the case.....................pathetic.
Funny that Deicide was used seeing as how anti-christian they are - presumably they would have been singing along if they'd known the lyrics were along the lines of "f*** your god, where the Christians are I will not go" ad nauseam. Some of the boring sh** they put out on "In Torment In Hell" - now that's torture!

You want torture? i am aware of the greatest form of torture.
let's bus all these prisoners to the nearest Abercrombie and Fitch and let some douchebag named chad with a flipped collar and aviators harass them for an hour trying to sell them a pair of low rise, slim fit, boot cut, button fly, stone washed, cross stitched, super charged, fuel injected pair of jeans. and the whole time he never calls you by your name, even though he asked you what it was, he just reffers to you as "hey guy" . and every time he has to speak to you he has to get right up to your ear so he can talk over the gaytacular techno remix of a semi-popular radio pop song playing in the background. Then when he finally figures out you don't want to buy anything because you explain your just trying to be nice to your girlfriend and buy something for her for your anniversary, he sprays you with some "complementary" a$$hole funk cologne and walks way muttering about how that cologne is "off the chain". That my friends is torture. God i hate the mall.
i swear, next year for our anniversary, all the old lady is gettin' is a carton of cigarettes and a lottery ticket.
It just came to me.....the ultimate torture song of all time is............Groove is in the Heart by DeeeLite! For those of you who have never heard this song, you have led a truely blessed life, for it is by far the worst piece of sh*t song on the planet. The worst part about this song is if your unlucky enough to hear it, and it's the last song you hear at the time, it will be stuck in your head for a very long time. I would rather be kicked in the balls then have that song stuck in my head!!!!!!!

Dude, forget Deicide and Dope, that Barney song would drive me up the f***ing wall! Not to mention the "Meow Mix" thing, whatever the holy hell THAT is! hahah, I know I shouldn't, but I had to laugh at the cruel irony of the Bee Gees...
I'd like to see this so called 'interrogation log' for myself, though. I'm almost a little suspicious about it, simply because the article didn't provide a link to it or anything...
