"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Nightshade Post New Song Online

Former USURPER guitarist Rick Scythe has issued the following update on his NIGHTSHADE project:

"We just posted a 'new' song. It's actually not new at all, but the first song ever written and recorded for NightShade called, 'Eye Of The Crow' (listen here). Although this is still a bit of a rough-version, it will give you an idea of some of the other material which will be on the debut NightShade album (Majick Potion). Let us know if you dig it."

"Speaking of the new NightShade album, we have solicited our CD to a few labels and hopefully in the next couple months we will have something worked out. The idea is to release our debut album this year and then hit the road. We want to be pretty selective about shows. We are working on some ideas for a cool set design and really prefer quality over quantity, and obscurity over over-saturated 'hipster-ness'. We really hope to distance ourselves from the Hipster stranglehold that has it's grip on the music scene in general. We have no desire to try to make NightShade fit in with any particular scene."

"Also, we are still searching for a drummer, (live replacement for Igor) as well as a bassist. We have some long-range solutions - a small list of people who we could rely on to fill in for shows/concerts, (which is what we originally wanted), but the more we rehearse, the more we think it might be cool to have some permanent additional members... we are not 100% sure right now; we might change our minds, but if you think you have what it takes, let us know."

"NightShade has also just worked out an endorsement deal with Kustom Amps. Both Rick and Mr. Faust will post some pictures with their new gear in the near future."

"OK, check back soon for all the ordering details for the coffin box... we promise, it will be here very soon. We already have almost 50 pre-orders. We were only planning on releasing 50 copies, but might perhaps release 100?"
