Tugnut Calls It Quits

Canadian experimental metal band Tugnut have called it quits after 6 years together. The band, who were signed to Acerbic Noise Development, have cancelled all upcoming tour dates. Here is the message posted to the band and label's MySpace pages:

From the desk of Tugnut:

Thats right, you aren't going retarded. RIP is correct.

Well, well, well. Never thought it could happen eh? Thought that we would do this for ever eh? Well you are right!

....oh wait. Let me start again.

After 6 years of travelling across this continent. and belching out the hits that all you kids love to pile on to oh so badly, the artist formerly known as Tugnut is packing it in and calling it quits, kicking the bucket whilst selling the farm and cashing life's EI cheque.

...oh wait let me start again.

So, as of Saturday February 2nd, all of us here at Tugnut thought that it would be better for the band if we all went
our seperate ways. (that's some mighty fine logic eh?) On a personal level we are all still as good of friends as always and are leaving the table with the peas and carrots of good memories and not the squash and sauerkraut of broken dreams. Joe will be moving back home while Steve and myself will remain in Cambridge (Canada) to continue to run our dreams through the garbage compacter twice as often as we did with Tugnut. Doubtful? Just try us!

We would like to thank everyone who ever came to a show and enjoyed what they heard. There are many other people that deserve many more thanks but for us it all comes down to you, the music nerd in the audience (you know who you are). Thanks! It was definitely a labour of love and we hope that you all take a little piece of Tugnut with you. (or push really hard and then flush it down the toilet)

With all that being said, you can grab all your "now vintage" Tugnut merchandise at our online store which
after we Endust the 1/4" layer of dust off it will show itself to have greatly reduced prices on everything.

Now for the lightning round!

-We are no longer repressing Golden Chopper on Acerbic Noise Development
-We are no longer going on tour in April.
-For all in attendance at The Lanc on Saturday January 26th, you witnessed the last and therefore best Tugnut show ever!

Once again, don't get too excited and start burning all of your Tugnut gear, (Joe) because who knows, maybe we will get back together for one last show. (in Guam)

We will try and get them to add our Myspace to "deathspace" but I think that they are already backed up with shitty
metalcore bands.

Well, from Steve, Joe and Hibbs.
Goodnight.......and good luck.
