"some music was meant to stay underground..."

Disturbed Exploring New Album Promotion

The Pulse of Radio reports that DISTURBED is looking at a late May release for its fourth studio album, titled "Indestructible". A single is likely to surface at radio stations sometime in March, although the song itself has yet to be finalized. The group is reportedly working on a number of promotional ideas to support the record. Singer David Draiman, a strong proponent of making music a purely digital product, told The Pulse of Radio that the band will nevertheless add a lot of extra features to the CD. "I definitely am all for any record companies being as aggressive as they can about moving towards just completely digital-based media," he said. "But we will continue to try and do things, and we're still going to do things this record cycle as well, to try and make it where there's a reason to buy it that's beyond what we're doing just musically."

DISTURBED is unofficially confirmed to be touring this summer on the Rockstar Mayhem tour, along with SLIPKNOT and a number of other yet-to-be-announced acts.

The group may also play some smaller shows in the spring, including a special overseas event.

Draiman recently said that "Indestructible" will be a heavier, angrier, more aggressive record than either 2005's "Ten Thousand Fists" or 2002's "Believe".

I love Disturbed. They have a unique sound. This I_Wanna_Play guy is classifying them as one genre or another genre and that's the problem. At the end of the day there's no mathematical formula that says a band is "this" or "that". If you like them, like them. If you like heavier classic metal then like that. But don't be a dumbass and dismiss an entire genre that you made up because you don't like one band.

Hmmmmm I guess I should take that back thay aren't NuMetal.....in fact I remember reading in a magazine somewhere......that David doesnt even consider themselves metal....they are hardrock according to him anyway....when I wrote that comment above i was a little messed up on absinthe so im taking that back....personally I dont like the band for different reasons.....I met their drummer and frontman back in 2000.....the drummer was an ok guy but I found david to be c***y...but I guess some people still listen to disturbed....thats sad but I guess its their choice....and they are just going to have to put up with other people dissing their favorite band.

Uh... Disturbedmetalwhatever, I can say what I want about a band and there is not a damn thing you can do about it. Not only that, but my opinion shouldnt matter to you as any true fan of any band in my opinion likes a band no matter what. I wont be sorry if it hurts someones little feelings as its my opinion and dont give a damn if anyone agrees with me or not. Go deeper in the metal and rock world and you will find that there is way better out there than Disturbed. Just because they are played on the radio does not make them a decent band!

Dark Funeral dont appoligize! You are right on the money. As for the patriots loss I know its a huge upset as they are 18 and 1. Try to look at it that they made it to the super bowl and had a great regular season other wise. I know its not much consulation, but its the least I can do from where I am. Agreed to post 17 too.

It was Karma I think when it comes to the Giants winning the super bowl. It was like she was humbeling the Patriots to the core. The Giants were what 16 and 3? The Patriots as we all know 18 and 1 now. Talk about one historical upset! Quite insane I think.

well, i had the unfortunate experience of witnessing disturbed live in concert. if they had ANY talent and weren't so wretchedly pathetic live, maybe i wouldn't hate them. and even if they were considered nu-metal, which they are, that isn't metal anyway.

now playing: skeletonwitch - limb from limb (saw these guys live friday night and they absolutely slayed!!! their all really cool guys too as i hung out with em for a bit during blow job for a c***boy's terribely monotonous set.)

It's a shame that so many of the posters here have nothing better to do than to bash Disturbed. I question whether those of you that are bashing them have listened to any more than the few songs that have been on the radio or MTV. I particularly have to doubt the honesty of the poster who said they saw Disturbed live and thought they were pathetic live and talentless. I've seen Disturbed live seven times and I believe their live show to have more passion and soul than just about any other band (and I've been to hundreds of concerts, starting with Led Zeppelin in 1977). There are three bands who's shows I won't miss: Rush, Godsmack, and Disturbed.

Personally, I believe David Draiman to have one of the best voices in rock music. He has the ability to switch from clean, airy, melodic tones to beastly rasp four times per measure. Dan Donegan is an outstanding guitarist and his leads are intellegent, well-crafted, and (like Alex Lifeson's) a secondary melody in the song. John Moyer is a great, energetic bassist live and I believe he'll really show his talents in this upcoming album. Finally, I think Mike Wengren is one of the top 20 active rock drummers... maybe even top 10. Any one of Disturbed's members has as much talent as most entire bands... certainly more than 99% of the bands that get radio airplay.

As for Metal or Nu-Metal or Alternative Metal (or whatever genre Disturbed fit into) being dead, that's what they said about Hard Rock in the late 70's, but guess what? It never did die. Ozzy Osbourne can still fill a stadium and he can barely walk. Few bands these days can fill a stadium and new music is mustering so much fan support that the hottest tickets these days are Hannah Montana and bands from the 70's like the Rolling Stones. Sheesh! At least Disturbed can sell out 22,000 seats in Chicago... has skeletonwitch sold 22,000 tickets in a year?

My personal opinions are not going to convince anyone who wants to hate Disturbed, but you can't dispute that The Sickness is RIAA triple platinum, and both Believe and Ten Thousand Fists have reached RIAA Platinum and debuted at #1 on Billboards Top 200 Album charts.

Disturbed is one of my favorite bands because they combine heavy rock beats and crunchy guitars with actual melodic singing and lyrics that talk about more than just death and sex.

it's quicker to make a list of all the bands who do only sing about death than sex than it is to make a list of all the bands who don't
let's just start with every hardcore and grindcore band and go on from there

I'll say it. I hate Disturbed. Their lead singer is so pompous and arrogant, and he has no idea what he's talking about. I've heard him say that bands that start with "the" ruined music, like THE DOORS and THE BEATLES?

And I've also heard him call an inverted pentagram a pentacle because a pentagram is upright, and a pentacle is the upside down one.

What a dumbass. The album's taking forever because he's still having it pro-tooled.

Anyone who likes Disturbed still is a PROTOOL.
