Absolution Reveal Debut Album Details

Absolution issue the following press release:

California based metal band Absolution will release their debut CD on February 12, 2008. The band started recording the album in Riverside, CA in September of 2007 and will finish up recording in the next few weeks. The band plan to mix and master the album in December and January and have it finalized by February. The as yet untitled CD will feature 11 songs clocking in at nearly 60 minutes and will offer a 'secret' cover song for free download on their Myspace page.

No newcomers to the LA thrash scene, Absolution have been playing clubs in the region for over 3 years. According to singer Dave Deroscher, " The songs are phenomenal, the production will be first rate and I think the overall album will be an eye opener for the whole metal scene. This is what we've been working towards for our entire lives."

Guitarist and band founder Chaz Leon adds, "This album will be a culmination of over two years of hard work. I am very excited. I think this album will have something for everyone. It showcases everything we are about with complex song structuring, aggressive riffing, but plenty of musical diversity as well."

Deroscher and Leon met up through an Internet musician board in late 2004 and were later joined by bassist Eric Chavez and lead guitarist, Matt Schneider. Master studio musician Luis Arevalo occupies the drummer spot.

Along with international distribution, Absolution plan to release the album in select stores in California. The album will also be available through digital download including iTunes, myspace and amazon.com. Deroscher says "We think making our songs available through the Internet will greatly increase our international accessibility and open many doors for us. The international market could be our biggest fan base."

Accessibility is a unique and important aspect of Absolution. With songs that range from full on thrash to 8-minute progressive epics to nearly straightforward hard rock, Absolution is a band that sees a large and diverse audience. "It's cliché to say it this point but Absolution is a band definitely not about trends. There are even trends within the metal scene." Says Leon. "Absolution completely ignores these and we write music for ourselves. We don't give a shit if you can't classify us into one of your countless sub-genres. Good. This is metal, period. It's up to you to classify, we just write the music!"
