Former VAN HALEN bassist Michael Anthony has issued the following update:

Also, we have only booked shows for the first leg of the tour, so don't worry, chances are we will bringing the party out your way!! We've only done two shows so far, and we are having a BLAST!! I'll be giving all of you updates from the party out here, so be sure to check the blog from time to time. Hope to see ya soon, Michael."

I wish Michael Anthony and Sammy Hagar all of the very best of success.

I just wish that Mike understood that he 'shot himself in the foot' so to speak. During the last 6 or 7 years he was known to side with Sammy instead of his original band with the VH bros. He might have saved himself if he sided with Dave, but that's heresy. The point is: the real person that's responsible for this LONG awaited reunion, ironically enough, is Wolfie VH. I don't believe the reunion could have happened if Mike was in the band because then only Dave would be pushing for the reunion. Wolfie prefers Dave-Era Halen only (smart AND talented kid!) and thoroughly enjoys playing the old stuff.
At least now there's an excellent chance at getting a new true Van Halen album. If Mikey was in the band: he'd be in on the reunion for a novelty, but his heart and mind is (sadly) already with Sammy. He said he asked Sammy if going on tour with VH would be OK, but did he ever ask the VH bros. if it would be OK to tour with Sammy? Certainly not, 'cause if he did they wouldn't have called one of their bands 'The Other Half' (which by the way, is a direct slap in the face to both the VH bros. AND Dave!). I don't see how a full reunion with Mikey would have had any continuity, based on where Mikey's head is at and the fact that the band wouldn't have Wolfie's push forward.

All the best to you Mikey, but don't go blaming the other '3 Quarters' of your old band. You did it to yourself, but that shouldn't matter 'cause you know you're happier with Sammy.

Oh and by the way: I find it REALLY interesting that you have all of these so-called 'true Halen fans' (who are really Hagar fans) that say that this ain't a reunion without Mikey, yet no one outside Roth fans said $ # ! T when Roth wasn't part of the band.

Same goes for Mikey, who said that this wasn't a real reunion without him. Well Mikey, I don't remember you making a fuss in 2004 that Dave wasn't part of what was called a 'Reunion Tour'.

Full of $ # ! T, the lot of ya...

Who gives a damn what VH is doing. If you've seen or heard any of their shows and have an ear for music you should know that Michael saved himself alot of emberassment. Sammy is a legend and has never compromised his talent. I pray that I can get to one of Sammy's shows this year and enjoy a real rock show and not an amature novelty concert that VH is putting on. THE RED ROCKER ROOOOLLZZZ!!!
