W.A.S.P. Ban All Cameras At Upcoming Shows

W.A.S.P. have issued the following update:

"Dear fans, please DO NOT bring any cameras into the shows this fall as it is strictly prohibited to take pictures or recordings of the performance of W.A.S.P.! Security Personnel at every venue will confiscate any cameras (including digital cameras and mobile phones with ability to record) from you before entering the venues. Please respect this request and enjoy the evening with The Crimson Idol.

Inquiries have been made as to whether the Crimson Idol will be performed only in select locations. The Crimson Idol Event will be performed every night in each of the cities in the Tour Schedule. Oh dear, another touchy (ex) rock star. Don't see many people turning up if they have to hand in their mobile phones. I really don't see the point of attitudes like this. Sorry Blackie!

Maybe he's amish.

I don't think W.A.S.P. is relevant or beloved enough to make a rule like this. First of all, the people coming to see you are YOUR FANS. The only people that would benefit personally from owning a picture of this band. And second of all, W.A.S.P. is lucky that they're even still criticized and paid attention to, y'know, since it's not 1987 anymore.

What I would love to see is if every date on this tour has to be cancelled from lack of ticket sales. All the W.A.S.P. fans I knew now have kids and real careers and don't have the time, or the desire to f*** like a beast anymore. They ALREADY have f***ed like a beast and that's why they have families. The last thing they want to do is watch someone who looks like Dee Snider's half-sister hopping around onstage in make-up.

Then to add insult to injury, they can't even bring their cameras? Why not? What, are they gonna sell the pictures on eBay? I'd understand if it was a band like Nickelback where an autographed photo would fetch a few hundred dollars, and the band misses out on that money, but, really? Come on. It's W.A.S.P. These guys are lucky that anyone wants to LOOK at them anymore.

Whew. Sorry. I had a bad morning and had to vent.

I don't see the point in this. I mean, W.A.S.P. are seriously underated, and I think unfairly so, but they have to make allowances for that, and if that means letting us take are cameras, then surely so be it.
