According to a posting on SOULFLY's official web site, Max Cavalera (guitar/vocals), Joe Nunez (drums), Marc Rizzo (guitar), and Bobby Burns (bass) are planning to enter the studio early next week to begin recording the band's sixth studio album. The CD will be recorded in Bobby and Tim Lau's studio in Florida — the Porch Studio — and will be produced by Max. An early 2008 release via Roadrunner Records is expected.
SOULFLY entered a Los Angeles studio in March with producer Logan Mader (ex-MACHINE HEAD, SOULFLY) to record a cover of the MARILYN MANSON song "Beautiful People" for the recently released Kerrang! magazine compilation "Higher Voltage".
SOULFLY's latest album, "Dark Ages", was produced by Max Cavalera and was mixed by Terry Date, who has previously worked with PANTERA and DEFTONES, among others.
