ATREYU's new song "Doomsday", has been posted on the band's MySpace page. The track comes off the group's new album, "Lead Sails Paper Anchor", due on August 28 via Hollywood Records. The band is currently previewing select songs from the highly anticipated album during the Family Values Tour, where ATREYU is sharing the stage with KORN, HELLYEAH and EVANESCENCE, among others.

ATREYU recorded "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" this spring with producer John Feldmann (THE USED, GOOD CHARLOTTE) who worked with the band to create their most infectious, ambitious and musically challenging disc yet. While the band's juxtaposition of hardcore-influenced chaos and rock-influenced melody is still present, the gulf between the two styles is diminished, making the passages flow in a smoother and more naturalistic manner. "Lead Sails Paper Anchor" was mixed by Andy Wallace (NIRVANA, SLIPKNOT, LINKIN PARK).

"Lead Sails Paper Anchor" track listing:

01. Doomsday
02. Honor
03. Falling Down
04. Becoming the Bull
05. Slow Burn
06. Two Become One
07. No One Cares
08. Can't Happen Here
09. Lose It
10. Blow
11. Lead Sails (and a Paper Anchor)

The album is just very. . .rock-core. Why would we eat our words? We don't like the band, and could care less if they got any bigger than they are. We'll sit here and listen to our real metal.

We do listen to good music, that's why we yell at bands like Atreyu and A7X on this site. For the record, I own the album before this one and I do think some of the songs were'nt half bad, coulda been better though. Atreyu is definetly not amazing to any degree, mediocre at best in my opinion. Defend a band that is'nt super mainstream and thusly pop-Metal and maybe your opinion would be worth more.

"Get a f***ing life"? You're the one cursing us out because we dislike an album by a very not so metal band who is posted on METAL underground. People like you probably like seeing bands like Aiden in f***ing Revolver, which used to be a very reliable sources of metal and hardcore.

the songs i've heard from this cd remind me of what eighteen visions sounded like when they became more radio friendly. i mean regardless of them changing there sound to be more mainstream, they are still a terrible band. seriously, if you think this is good you have really bad taste in music, its the same garbage that came out in the mid 80s when metal became a joke, had absolutely no originality and every douchebag was into wearing makeup and having huge hair. unfortunately simple, cheesy music seems to sell really well.

I really liked The Curse, but the more I listen to their songs, the only songs that stick out to me are the "blood children" and "bleeding mascara" "lip gloss and black" off of suicide notes wasn't bad either, but the songs off of deathgrip just sucked for me. I've moved on to heavier things, so that could be that they seem very watered down now.

Not to really date a genre, but I think as you get older and mature a little bit, you kinda grow out of the A7X and atreyu's and start to appreciate talented bands.

Hmm.

I listened to the full tracklist. Honor wasn't horrible, and Blow's opening line was quite amusing, but the spark faded after that. The only song I really enjoyed was When Two are One, which I thought was quite good and more like some older Atreyu, minus a bit of screaming. The CD isn't horrible, but it's definitely different, which ran all the solid fans away from Slipknot to be replaced with teenie bopper trash, and I think Atreyu will see the same shortly.

But hey, there's still Alexisonfire....and Evergreen Terrace...and Zao....and Killswitch.....and Haste the Day....and a lot of other bands who aren't selling out to sell records. Atreyu is still a pretty good band, just wish they hadn't changed their style to meet the demands of emo kids and screaming little girls.

Man do I hate this band. The singer sucks so badly...it's just more of the metal trash we've seen so far in the 00's...no one is original any more. Besides, on their past stuff I've heard, his screaming blows, and the production is horrid. It sounds like it's lacking...something. Something band clearly does not have.

I remember the day I used to think Atreyu was cool, went to their concert and got autographs and stuff, but then I realized I was selling out like they were. They are truly the epiphany of gay. I don't want to hear ANY of their new songs. They aren't metal, they are sloppy musicians, thus eliminating all factors of making them worth listening to. I agree, we yell at crappy bands because this is a METAL site.

And to Euphoric Anomaly, ALL those bands you listed ARE just in it for the money and suck immensely, aside from Killswitch, which is an ok but not good or great band, and Zao has like 2 good songs and the rest are trash, just to clarify that for ya.

You guys are all hideously biased towards the fact that bands that haven't broken through are good, but because bands like A7x and Atreyu change and 'sell out' they immediately suck, and then you go telling people to mature and listen to real music.

Please die in a fire. If you can't handle change, atleast don't be a hypocrite and try and forcefeed your questionable music choices down peoples throats.

The members in Atreyu and A7X have got more fame, recognition and talent than 99.9% of the ignorant teenagers that post here, grow up or just go outside. Srsly.

Point untrue. Look at the site's continuous love and support of Slayer, though they have undoubtedly become more "mainstream" than most metal bands will ever have the chance to be. It's not the fact that a band is popular, it's the fact that they shift their sound away from metal to get more popular (if they were in the first place) or weaken their sound for mainstream appeal.

Fame and recognition, yes. Talent, f*** no. If you want talent, look at the Absence, or Necrophagist.
