Just today I saw a waaay better box set at Hastings. It has Carcass, Death and bunch of death metal and grindcore bands. It had some cheesy name like "Metal Assault!" or something like that, but the music itself was actually good and representitive of metal. Plus, it was $15 for like 100 songs.

18. guy who heard all these songs as debuts writes:

No, these songs are not todays metal they were the hardest thing ever wrote when they came out. Everyone credits Blue Cheer as the first metal band, even Ozzy. Inna Godda Divida is a bad a$$ song that's got one of the worst drum solos ever but it was hard enough for Slayer to cover for a movie soundtrack. Led Zepplin should be on there, the "Immigrant Song" is metal. This is a compilation of old school early headbanger anthems. If you don't know where you come from you can't see where you're going. Whatever your favorite band is I bet my balls one of these bands is in their collection too. Influences man, there should be some Motley Crue, and Lita Ford 'cause she was so hot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
