Whats wrong with thier last two albums? Okay, I can see whats wrong with 'Threads Of Life", but what about 'Fallout From The War'. That album rocks. Anyway, The Acacia Strain and Everytime I Die suck and are a perfect example of why metalcore has gone to sh**. Shadows Fall happen be one of the best metalcore bands ever, them and Unearth.
I agree to some entent on the last two albums comment. I am not a big fan of Fallout but have grown to like the latest album after initially being put off by it being so accessible and melodic sounding. It's really a killer, solid album that I've been playing the hell out of lately.

I will say that the melodic sound on the new album has shed light on the fact that Brian also has a amazing singing voice. As far as their albums go as a whole I think that they have all been solid, but I guess its more about where and how you expect a band to progressive and how they will evolve their sound. "Fallout From the War" did not show me anything special other then their usuall stuff. I can see Deathbringer's point that their new album is a step in a new direction so big Shadows Fall Fans will make the choice to or to not stick with them, or call them sellouts or whatever. For me personaly I got hooked on everything untill "The War Within" and I really enjoyed the thrash element in thier sound, but it seems like they are becoming more of a standard metalcore band when at the start they had something interesting and fun.
To get back to this article, I'm glad to see them heading shows. Like I have said regardless of their albums they know how to play live and get a crowd pumped, and the SOTU tour is going to kick some major ass!

Shadows Fall is a great band to see live. After seeing them 2 times they fit into most any metal fest very smoothly. The only downside is I have not enjoyed the last two albums they put out...
