Former IRON MAIDEN / WOLFSBANE singer Blaze Bayley's previously announced shows in Bristol and Bradford (both England) - originally scheduled for this month - will be postponed. Bristol Bierkeller will now take place on September 6, and Bradford Rios will happen on September 8.
According to a posting on Blaze's web site, "The band is working on the upcoming DVD release, and the schedule for this makes it necessary to postpone these gigs to ensure the highest quality possible of the material. We apologize for the inconvenience caused, but at the same time we hope you still look forward to being indoors with your friends in a warm and cosy athmosphere, surrounded by the best music possible, when the autumn weather outside is terrible."
Metal Mind Productions has set a June 11 release date for Blaze Bayley's DVD. Entitled "Alive in Poland", the disc was recorded at the 21st edition of the Metalmania Festival, which took place on March 24 in Katowice, Poland. Blaze Bayley and his band put on a 90-minute show consisting of the best tracks from BLAZE's discography as well as select cuts from IRON MAIDEN ("Man on the Edge", "Futureal"). The DVD will also include many great bonus features, such as an interview with Blaze Bayley, an interview with all members of Blaze's band (featuring footage filmed during their visit to Poland) and more. A limited edition "Alive in Poland" release will include a CD with songs recorded at the concert.
Blaze Bayley will reunite with his first band WOLFSBANE for three songs after his solo set at the Rock of Ages Festival in Tamworth, England on September 9. Blaze Bayley will release his new solo album in late October. The record will contain 14 new songs and will be supported by "a massive tour 2008/2009, covering over 150 concerts all over the world," according to Blaze's management.
Bayley's new band, now called simply BLAZE BAYLEY, is as follows:
Rico Banderra - Drums
Nick Bermudez (UNDER THREAT) - Guitar
David Bermudez (UNDER THREAT) - Bass
Rich Newport - Guitar
Blaze Bayley - Vocals
Bayley's most recent release, "Blood & Belief" (which came out under the BLAZE banner), was issued in Europe in April 2004. The follow-up to 2002's "Tenth Dimension" was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (SABBAT, NEVERMORE, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY).
