Dissection Guitarist: Jon Nödtveidt Didn't Have Copy Of 'The Satanic Bible' At Suicide Scene

DISSECTION guitarist Set Teitan (ex-ABORYM, BLOODLINE) has dismissed media reports that the group's frontman, Jon Nödtveidt, placed an open copy of "The Satanic Bible" in front of him before killing himself last week at his apartment in Hasselby, a suburb of Stockholm.
According to the Swedish newspaper Expressen, Nödtveidt, 31, was found dead on Wednesday, August 16 after he allegedly surrounded himself by lit candles and shot himself in the head. Shortly before the ritual suicide, he sent farewell letters to his father and his girlfriend and explained to a friend, "I'm going away for a long, long time. I'm going to Transylvania."
At 7:21 p.m. CET on August 16, a police patrol reported to the police communication center in Stockholm that a man had been found dead, the apparent victim of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. According to several of Expressen's sources, the singer placed an open copy of "The Satanic Bible" in front of him before pulling the trigger.
"He shot himself in the head and lay dead in a ring of lit candles," a police source told Expressen.
In a message posted in an invite-only black metal online forum, DISSECTION guitarist Set Teitan reportedly wrote: "This also [has] to be cleared up before it becomes another rumor, as [journalists], of course, invent things in their ignorance: It's not any atheist, humanist and ego-worshipping 'Satanic Bible' by Anton LaVey that Jon had in front of him, but a Satanic Grimoire. He despised LaVey and 'Church of Satan'."

A grimoire is a book of magical knowledge written between the late-medieval period and the 18th century. Such books contain astrological correspondences, lists of angels and demons, directions on casting charms and spells, on mixing medicines, summoning unearthly entities, and making talismans...
I can see why the ignoramus' of the media would think it the Satanic Bible.
Allow me to elaborate a Grimoire is not actually a Satanic Bible. But in fact a book of spell's.In this case Satanic or Black Magic.A grimoire can be from any Magic type person good or evil Satanic or Wiccan,Kabalic etc.Rumor has it King Solomon had one.Copies of which can in fact be bought on Amazone.com if your interested.
Rumor has it Aliester Crowley wrote one of his own. Also some believe the Necronomicon to be a book of ancient spell's.However Anton Levay was quoted as saying that nothing in that book is real but it can be used in ritual as sort of a focus point if you will.Which is kind of a contradiction when you think about it.
According to legend a Satanic Or Black Magic grimoire is usually written in human blood and bound in leather made from human skin.Don't ask me how I know this sh**.
In my opinion JON will always be a f***ed up NAZI piece of sh** who took the easy way out. What a f***ing coward and a sick skumbag with no concience.I'm glad he's burning in hell right now and he asked for it.
Dave Mustaine is now vindicated for refusing to tour with such a deranged maniac like him.
LOOK where DISSECTION is today and look where MEGADETH is.Now tell me who is the better man here?
f*** DISSECTION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
SATAN IS A LOSER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MEGADETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GOD IS THE CHAMPION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hahah, my bad, Blackdog - I just went to good ol' Wikipedia. Wiki says that Solomon had two, in fact (greater and lesser or something). I dunno about human skin or blood or any of that, I'd say that's more sensationalism on rumour's part. You know how people will change a story to make it more interesting/exciting/whatever. And besides, back in the 18th century (when the grimoires were written) anyone who could read/write was thought to be a magic-user (read: satanic?...devil-worshipping?...psycho who skins people alive and makes funny marks on papyrus with his own blood?...).
Hey suffer, I agree with you that Megadeth is farther than Dissection. That's a f***ing no brainer and we all f***ing know that. And if you want to talk about Mustaine being a better man than you must not know about him do you? Yes he is very intelligent and a great musician but he's also a total prick. And how the hell do you know this guy was a deranged maniac? you didn't even know the guy. Personally I haven't even heard this band before. But refusing to play a show with another band is stupid unless you have bad blood or a rivalry (Metallica/Megadeth). So I don't think he's a better man because he didn't want to tour with them, I think it's stupid.
Yeah Psythe It's actually really interesting reading.I get bored easily and tend to look into thing's that alot of people would say I should'nt.I like to think of it as being well informed.I got alot of different types of friend's so it help's if I know a thing or two about different stuff. An old friend of mine's wife is a witch. She actually wrote a book called the Elizabethan Grimoire. It was selling pretty good for a while. That was back in the 90's I don't know if it's available anymore.
Yeah? Crazy, man. Yeah, I'll read something random somewhere that will spawn this huge research thing, and I'll end up reading into this topic I'd never heard of before for like, weeks on end, totally engrossed in my new learning.
Actually, at the moment, I'm on a poetry spree, hahah. Reading a lot of those literary gems; Paradise Lost (John Milton), The Second Coming (William Butler Yeats), Manfred (Lord George Gordon Byron), etc etc...As much as I usually hate reading poetry (particularly the amateurish emo blog teen angst crap), I'm finding this stuff to be wonderfully interesting, full of little quips about life and death and everything in-between, and all the rest as well :P
Through the chaos of violence to an eternal winter, what is dead is dead... Dissection would not have been as they were had he not been in that band, I salute jon and The Black and Dissection and give him \darkest respect/ "...what is dead is dead..." - Merrimack 2006

It figures that the media would sensationalise this, sad as that is.
I'm off to find out what a Satanic Grimoire is. Any relation to a memoire, perchance?
