Down is In Writing Mode

According to DOWN's webmaster, the acclaimed New Orleans band featuring CORROSION OF CONFORMITY guitarist/vocalist Pepper Keenan, drummer Jimmy Bower (EYEHATEGOD, SUPERJOINT RITUAL guitarist), bassist Rex Brown (ex-PANTERA), guitarist Kirk Windstein (CROWBAR), and vocalist Philip Anselmo (SUPERJOINT RITUAL, ex-PANTERA) is "in the writing phase" of the group's third album. An early 2007 release is expected.

Brown previously stated in an online posting that DOWN is currently working on two albums' worth of material while planning a tour of the Pacific Rim and South America. In addition, the band will apparently re-release its classic debut, "Nola" (1995), with Brown on bass, and remaster its follow-up, "Down II" (2002), although it is not presently clear when either of those releases might see the light of day.

As previously reported, DOWN filmed many of the shows on their recent European tour for an upcoming DVD. The band headlined the second stage at the 2002 Ozzfest.
