MEGADETH drummer Shawn Drover has dismissed the rumored Gigantour 2 lineup which was published in Bass Player magazine as "so not true, it's actually funny."

As previously reported, new issue of the Bass Player magazine (see scan at this location) has named the following bands as taking part in the second installment of the Gigantour, the festival tour organized by MEGADETH frontman Dave Mustaine as a tour featuring "only bands whose musicianship matches their ability to melt faces with sheer volume and power":

MEGADETH
ARCH ENEMY
OPETH
ANTHRAX
BODY COUNT
SEVENDUST
NORMA JEAN

The official Gigantour 2 lineup is expected to be announced later this month.

Body count was fronted by rapper/pimp ICE-T back in the day. One of his side musical projects. I'm not sure if it's the same line up but some of Body Counts tunes were ok. I just cant picture them touring with Megadeth. But hey, if they can throw-down, cool. I do like the thought of Arch Enemy though. Very nice.

Body Count was bad a$$ back in the day, but a few of the original members are dead now. If Dave can secure Opeth on this tour, that would be amazing. This lineup looks strong.

Hey DeedsofFlesh why don't you listen to Sevendust and actually see if they're good or not before you say they're "probly dumb." I will admit that I don't like all there songs but there's always a certain couple I like off of each CD of theirs. And it doesn't matter what song they're playing live they f***ing kick a$$ live!!!

Sevendust are very talented in my opinion. Some intresting guitar work going on. If they do indead play on the tour Dave better break out the older more technical songs from the back catalog or Sevendust might steal the show. The idea of Opeth sounds great also. Could make for a very high volume progressive show. Would love to hear Dave and Company bust out with the "Holy wars" stuff. Not so sure about Norma Jean, Havent heard enough to voice a solid opinion yet.

Sevendust is gay. Their only good album was their self-titled. The rest of 'em sucked. Especially in "Home" where they pay tribute to the guy from Snot. Wow. Snot. There's a band worth remembering! Lol j/k...

dude, Snot were a f***in rad band. "the guy" deserves all the tribute he gets, if not more. As for Sevendust, their latest two records disappointed me a bit, they didn't seem to take their sound anywhere new, fresh, exciting or amazing. It was more of the same from them, basically. Which isn't bad music, but the same songs, three albums in a row is a little, well, "meh" for me. Nevertheless, Sevendust have some of the best songs coming out of nu-metal these days. Breaking Benjamin are also good for that genre.

He just said they're not on it right now, they may and I have little doubt that Anthrax will be on it, I know he's trying to get Kreator (yay!) and I know for a fact that he's gotten Arch Enemy on the tour.

I would like to see Sevendust on this tour. Great live band, and would bring somthing different to the show.
Norma Jean has very little talent in my opinion, and Arch Enemy, musically is ok, but don't like the vocals, not a big fan.

Body Count...gotta be a kidding

Anthrax and Opeth would be cool.
I heard last fall that Mustaine was going to get Overkill for the next Gigantour.
Hope they make this into a good line-up, not too excited bout SOTU or Ozzfest this yr.

I heard that Dave wants to get Testament, but their manager wants more money than Dave's willing to pay... I don't know how true that is, but It'd be sweet if they were on this year's Gigantour.

agree 100 % with Psythe...

Not a big Breaking Benjamin fan though...so I guess I agree 98.7% heh.

Snot were the only rap-metal band to come out of the late 90's that actually had something to say with some skill to back it up. There was alot of punk in there too. I found their debut to be rap-metals only hope, when the singer was still alive (this was spring of 1998 is memory serves).

Lynn Strait had his sh** down, unlike Fred Durst and Kid Rock.

As for Sevendust...I think they're starting, very slowly to lose their edge.

"Animosity" was what I would call their last great cd front to back.

"Seasons" was a good balancing act of melody and aggression (too poppy though) as was "Next" but "Next" just had more clunkers than Sevendust ussually bring to the table.

I have more to say:
I would pay to see this show.

Norma Jean put on a stage show like Dillinger....They look like pyscho ragdolls with instruments but the intensity is real, not to mention they play note for note perfect while flailing about.

Sevendust are all energy. I've seen then 3 times, they look so happy to be up there, and they sound almost studio perfect.

Opeth are a religion of mine so I would have to see that.

Anthrax are classic, not a favorite of mine but classy stuff.

Arch Enemy are great but kinda boring to watch, Body Count would be cool just cus Ice T always has something clever to say.

Megadeth...I mean, for all of Daves brain damage and diva-like tirades it's f***ing Megadeth....It's like seeing Metallica or Ozzy at least once in your life. It's a must.

If sevendust is there i will look at it as one of the best concerts i have seen. I have already seen them 9 times and they have always done one hell of a good show. plus it would get me interested more with some of the other bands that i havent seen live yet. how a band sounds on disk and how they preform are two different things. not all bands can do both great. looking forward to this tour though.
