The 11th edition of the Brutal Assault festival is scheduled for August 10th - 12th in Svojsice U Prelouce (100 km east of Prague), Czech Republic.

Organizers have issued the following update:

This year’s event promises more impressive expansion and confirms that the organizers don’t intend to stagnate. On the contrary, from year to year, the festival’s program is more and more various and promises more and more foreign metal crowd-pullers for the fans of promiscuous extreme genres. Thanks to the participation of many first-rate metal bands, this event aspires to become a major metal festival in central Europe.

It’s difficult to say which band can be branded as the headliner because this year’s lineup offers up several giants of the metal genre.

Great attraction, especially for fans of atmospheric or symphonic black metal are Norwegians black metal gurus DIMMU BORGIR. In their case we can look for a frosty and dark concert experience.

The next exclusive guest comes from the USA. FEAR FACTORY, who were well known as a representatives of dehumanized cyber metal, but nowadays they come with a new actual face of the year 2006.

Other representatives of Norwegian black metal scene are MAYHEM. This band is regarded as a co-creator of this music genre and this year comes back with its ex-new vocalist Attila. That means we can look for exclusive adventure.

And now something for backers of the most extreme metal genres. MORBID ANGEL belong to the absolute death metal elite. They are sometimes considered as even the best band in this music branch.

For the “old school” fans are prepared several treats – grind core veterans NAPALM DEATH and no less assiduous hardcore SICK OF IT ALL, reappearance of death metal band GOREFEST and German thrashers DESTRUCTION as well as English ONSLAUGHT. Finnish AMORPHIS will introduce not only combination of dreamlike melodies but also wild Scandinavian rave.

But not only well-known stars are on festival’s line-up. Organizers introduced several young, hopeful or underground bands. For many visitors, Brutal Assault will be the first opportunity to contort their fleshes with these bands. These facts don’t apply to jazz-art-noise metal frenzy Italian EPHEL DUATH. This band has already appeared at Svojsice and their concert show guarantees extraordinary experience. Israeli ethno-doom progressive ORPHANED LAND excelled at Prague’s appearance with PARADISE LOST. Their sound is full of eastern melodies connected in excellent musical packing. High technical level connected with modern express are presented by young talented band GOJIRA and TEXTURES, modern way and sound in metal music demonstrated Danish MNEMIC. For the first time will come to the Czech Republic French dingbats CARNIVAL IN COAL. Their music includes an eccentric sense of humour. We can look for representatives of brutal death metal genre in SEVERE TORTURE and SKINLESS. Either of these two bands prefers different presentation of their “deadly art”, but both of them are respected especially for their live presentation. You can enjoy devastating ROTTEN SOUND or Irish doom metallers MOURNIGN BELOVETH with their suicidal slow and torn music.

Anyway, be assured that besides mentioned bands a lot of others foreign formations are confirmed. For complete bill of performers visit official website www.brutalassault.cz. At the festival are gonna be more than 50 bands from all over the world.

Of course you can also expect the best of the Czech and Slovak metal scene. These bands represent various metal generations, from legends to young promising talents. For example indestructible ROOT, Andel 2005 awards winners in category “hard & heavy“ ADOR DORATH or Slovak mood makers as well as brutal melody makers DEPRESY.

And now take a look at the summary of the most important information for visitors: the 11th volume of the Brutal Assault Festival takes place at Svojsice U Prelouce.
