Danko Jones Undergoes Emergency Eye Surgery
DANKO JONES' frontman/namesake was scheduled to play at NXNE in Toronto on June 8, 2006. After a routine visit to the doctor he was advised that he needed immediate eye surgery, as he had a retinal detachment in his right eye. Surgery was successful, and Danko is recovering well. "We do not foresee the surgery or recovery affecting any future dates so everything currently scheduled is good to go," reads a posting on the band's web site.
DANKO JONES' latest CD, "Sleep is the Enemy", was released in the U.S. last month via Razor & Tie. The album was produced and engineered by Matt DeMatteo at Record High Productions in Toronto and was mixed by Vic Florencia at Phase One Studios in Toronto. Mastering duties were handled by Ted Jensen at Sterling Sound in New York (Ted's previous work includes GREEN DAY's "American Idiot" and R.E.M.'s "Around The Sun").
