Details have begun to materialize for this summer's Strhess Tour 2006. The trek will kick off in July, with Shadows Fall returning as the headlining act (they headlined Strhess 2004). The tour also features Poison The Well in the direct support slot in addition to It Dies Today and Still Remains, with other acts such as Darkest Hour, Bury Your Dead, Himsa and Suffocation joining the tour in select markets. Shadows Fall frontman Brian Fair had the following to say regarding the tour:

"Finally Shadows Fall will be hitting the road this year! After months of being trapped in the practice space we are really looking forward to getting back onstage. It looks like this will be the only tour we will be doing this year in support of our new album, Fallout From The War, so we urge everyone to do their best to make it out before we head back into the studio to begin work on the next album. We plan on busting out new tunes from the Fallout record and dusting of a few old tunes and adding them back into the set list. We are very excited to be part of the Strhess tour once again. The first one was a blast and we are honored that Derek Hess and all the people at Strhess have decided to invite us back. Hope to see you all there."

If one can indeed call Shadows Fall and Posion the Well metal-core they do indeed represent the best the genre has to offer.
I envy anyone who gets to catch this particular road show given that Himsa and Suffocation (MIKE SMITH!!!) is on the bill as well.

f*** calling Shadows Fall metalcore, them boys are beyond classification. Good call on Mike Smith's blast-beating murder on the drums for sure though, leave it to a fellow dready to bring the roof down.

Yeah, don't call Shadows Fall metalcore :-) Just like a few other modern bands, they have a few elements of metalcore in them, but they are 90% classic heavy metal-inspired/derived, so calling them metalcore only confuses the matter.

definitely all the above posts got it right....im more of a fan of the straight forward death, ie nile, behemoth, death, carcass, etc. but that tour is awesome, all original bands that have a lot to offer especially live. hope it comes near worcester......

It better come through Chicago! The only thing I don't like about this is It Dies Today because they treated the crowd like sh**. But I remember I think it was in Guitar World or something awhile back and said that Shadows Fall is the new Metallica for this generation. And that was before the St. Anger bullsh** when The Art of Balance first came out.

It Dies Today, Poison The Well, Still Remains are all generic metal-core, Shadows Fall is first one to break off the genericly boring genre! playing cause know one wants to listen to the same sh!t all night!

Aleisha, in response to your question, yes. they are coming to washington state. they'll be at the showbox july 22nd @ 430pm. tix are 18 plus five dollars for some fee on each ticket, so really more like 23. considering that shadows fall is an excellent band and that they're playing a relatively small venue with great backing lineup, i would say that you can't miss this. see you there!
