The following statement from Metal Church:

"Due to health complications from years of struggling with diabetes, Kirk Arrington has stepped down as METAL CHURCH's drummer. He will be missed and we wish him only the best.

"We are pleased to announce that filling Kirk's shoes is the 'one and only' Mr. Jeff Plate (SAVATAGE, CHRIS CAFFERY, TRANS SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA).

"We are very honored to have a musician of Jeff's caliber working with us and we know that he will do a fantastic job in METAL CHURCH."

For more on Jeff, visit his web site at www.jeffplate.com.

METAL CHURCH are currently working on the follow-up to 2004's "The Weight of the World", tentatively due later in the year via SPV Records. The band's current lineup is completed by guitarists Kurdt Vanderhoof and Jay Reynolds (ex-MALICE), vocalist Ronny Munroe (ex-SAVATAGE, CHRIS CAFFERY, TRANS SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA), and bassist Steve Unger. A short European tour is scheduled for June.

Too bad their original singer, David Wayne, passed away May 10, 2005. He was one of the best metal vocalists of all time. Man could he growl and screech! He was even pretty melodic rare occassions, but he was METAL TO THE CORE!! I always loved his SCRATCHY lyrics. His former bands, Metal Church and Reverend have definately suffered a loss, but not as much as his fans.

There is a "revival" of his recordings, as old & new fans search frantically for rare, out of print Reverend CDs. If anyone could come up with the first Reverend CD or the last one, "A Gathering of Demons" in good condition, I would gladly cough up $50 for each one!

By the way, there is a special tribute to David Wayne coming up on May 13, 2006. (The anniversary of his burial.) It's in San Antonio Texas, and presented by Texas Metal Health as a fundraiser for Lukemia, etc. Several bands will be there, including Reverend, with possibly David Wayne's brother, Dennis doing vocals. I might see some of you Metal kiddles there!

Oh yeah, and for Metal Church's, new singer, Ronny Munroe, "Sorry 'bout your luck, but David Wayne totally kicks your A S S and will sell more albums dead than you probably ever will alive." Keep trying though, you might prove me wrong....but I doubt it.

Ronny, you need MORE
